what was or highest average power ranking in history?

probably came after that superbowl run

Interesting question. We were super respected in the media from 2004 to 2006. SI picked us to win the Super Bowl at least twice in that span. We were high on power rankings all the time. Then we kept disappointing and things seemed to fall apart for us among major NFL media in 2006 when we were coming off the great 2005 season and added Keyshawn and then we were pretty much garbage that year until December. They've disrespected us ever since then.

The New York Post, the 13th-oldest and seventh-most widely circulated newspaper in the United States, has Panthers #2 in in NFL only behind Broncos with the headline: "NFL Power Rankings: Meet the powerhouse Panthers"

"Cam Newton and the Panthers are flying high with a 2-0 start backed by a clamp-down defense... The Seahawks’ defense might get most of the attention, but its counterpart in Carolina needs to start being part of the conversation. The Panthers are 2-0 ... and almost all of the credit needs to go to a defense that..looks every bit as suffocating as the one in Seattle."

The New York Post also tweeted: "NFL Power Rankings: Most wrote off the Panthers , but they look just as good as last year"

    • Not sure he is in the top ten but: His 9.99 RAS score, second among 1,512 tackles since 1987, isn't a gimmick. You see every bit of that explosiveness translate to the field when he kicks and slides in pass sets. NFLDraftBuzz
    • Ya win some, ya lose some. Legette looks to be a loss.  The time for disappointment has passed. I expect nothing, so if I get something I will be surprised.
    • I got called into HR one time, as they were doing their research after a verbal altercation that I had with another employee. He was the one that started the sh¡t and had the nerve to go to HR. Well, I did the meeting, & the manager gave me her card & said if there was anything else I wanted to say regarding the investigation, to contact her. I thought about it later that day, so I used our company email and told her that I was willing to take a lie detector test, and that if he and his two friends were willing to do the same, once it was determined that they were lying and that I was telling the truth, then they would have to be punished accordingly. Funny thing is, after that, I never heard from her again, or anything about the investigation. It's like it never happened.  Anyway, yeah 89 isn't doing himself any favors with this one. He wants to fight with a guy old enough to be his dad because of Rivera's lack of communication, even if there was some perceived hypocrisy going on. That's just not a good look.
