The theory? Perhaps Jerricho Cotchery, the wide receiver that caught 10 touchdowns last year for the Steelers, was the key to opening up the offense for Roethlisberger to do well. Cotchery could have opened things up for Antonio Brown and is the cause for his breakout season.

Cotchery was prolly in McDermott's office yesterday after everyone watched the Lions game film. His info about Pittsburgh's offense should help out like Chase Blackburn's helped in last years's week 3 game vs. the Giants.

cotchery was nothing but a redzone threat and was the 3rd option at best most of the time on base offensive packages. brown, sanders, bell, miller had a lot of targets.

I always say, you need those blue collar players that out perform their contract. Pittsburgh is losing those players and not replacing them with the same quality.

Brown and sanders are great WRs. If anything Cotchery benefited in the offense due to defenses paying attention to Brown and Sanders.

I mean outside of maybe the addition of Dri Archer, Cotchery probably has decent intel on how that offense operates...to some extent.

Luck is needed in the draft, not free agency. Gettleman describes himself as a grinder with all the film he watches, and free agents have more NFL game film playing in NFL offenses and defenses that he can watch and evaluate. College players are more risky, since by definition they haven't played in the NFL yet.
