Wes Horton..what we know and what we don't

I believe Ealy got more snaps than Horton and Addison. I know Addison had the least amount of snaps for any DE. I do like to see us giving Ealy plenty of snaps. I hope Short can get a sack. He is getting plenty of pressure but it doesn't show in the stat line.

PFF is grading short better than star right now, so I definitely think he is getting recognition.

I hope Blackburn sees more action than Klein. Klein has been awful against the run.

yea watching Klein get steamrolled by Collins for their TD last made me cringe. Watching the play unfold I was thinking "ok he had a good angle on him to square up and get a good hit, should stop him at the one and we can maybe hold them to a FG which hasn't been working so well for them so far." And then Klein was on his back.

I've been hard on Klein as well, but did you not see him blow up the run on that Cason caused fumble? Klein had just as much to do with that caused fumble as Cason did. Go back and look when you get a chance. Very impressive to say the least.

    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
    • It is goofy how some people hate Bryce so much that they're flat out lying to try and remain entitled to their pessimism. It's insanity. Most fans are realists and eagerly awaiting the season to see if we get pre- or post-benching Bryce to start the season and how much he is able to do with some young and developing weapons. Many of us understand that these young guys are going to have growing pains on the job as well as the new defense, but the fans with all of the excuses for why Bryce can't be successful are pounding the no excuses drum. Personally, I'd prefer the Keep Pounding drum.
