cam dident play bad but he dident play to his potential . you know why? because hes injured rivera should of waited until he was 100% . why not play anderson he is a beast and fits shulas offense better , its not really cam its shula , i belive cams our franchise guy but damn shula why dont you use him the way that fits his abilities . let me put this in a madden perspective . Do you ever see someone play with a qb like cam,kap or russel wilson and just sit there and not scramble the whole game? or call roll outs?? shula needs to step up hes the problem along with bitchy bell aka the clone of  jonathan martin

Very well thought out and informative.

Any real fan would know that the offensive line is the reason for a stagnant offense.

i agree but they dont share all the blame. i was one of the ones saying we should give Shula one more season, but he refuses to call plays that will help our offensive line. quick passes and situational personnel changes could overcome that deficiency but Shula seems wholly unwilling to make those changes.

if it doesnt change, as i said in another thread, i will be a loud voice calling for Shula's head to roll after this season

Unfortunately, most of the people who bash Cam are simply waiting for him to fail and jump on every opportunity that presents itself....He is a player that brings out a lot of negative emotions because he isn't a "get in line, old school, pocket passer, good old boy" type guy like Matt Ryan or Luck. Most people bashing him never liked him to begin with. Personally, I'm happy as hell to have him as our QB.

Totally agree.  I don't know what people expect of Cam.

I had low expectations of Cam.  I wanted Patrick Peterson in that Draft.  I thought I was right after watching Cam have a horrible preseason that year.  Then he came out and threw for almost 800 yards in the first two games.  I kind of converted around that time.

He is on track for a HOF career in nearly every measurable you can think of.   Off the field he has made some gaffes but he at least goes through the motions of taking responsibility for them.  He plays within the confines of the team.  He is trying to change his game to conform to what his coach thinks he should be.  That's something few of us would be happy to do.  Even banged up Cam is so much better than anyone else we've ever had here in Carolina.

I remember Kerry Collins great decision making and noodle strength arm.  I recall the sense of dread every time Delhomme dropped back to pass - which was a 50/50 proposition in the best of times.  (Many a good beer died a premature death by hitting the wall at my house when Delhomme was playing).  Heck, the darkest hour was only 4 years ago with Clausen Saint Pierre.  Will I ever get the 'one read then throw it out of bounds' Davidson offense out of my mind?

When Cam F_ing Newton drops back to pass and gets it out on his first or second read I'm about 95% certain it will either be caught or dropped by a Carolina Panther or put where no one can catch it.  In my humble opinion, a Cam scramble or sack equals an interception thrown by Anderson.  I'm super happy with DA in back up role providing he doesn't play more than a half at a time.  We were really close to losing in Tampa and probably should have.

I really don't understand the Cam hate.  What would you have him do differently?

Completely feel you. People act like they're die hard panthers fans then can't even name 10 players on the roster... Don't follow the team at all when we do bad.. Then we do good suddenly they come out of nowhere acting like they've been supporting us the whole time.. Smh. Bandwagon fans who don't know anything.

I asked during the offseason what everyone's least favorite fans are.

Is it the Saints?

49ers?

Falcons?

Patriots?

No. None of the above.

After listening to so many Panther fans today bashing Cam Newton for his inaccuracy and "sucking", I have came to the conclusion that I despise Panther fans. No, not you guys. The ones that pretend to know everything when in reality they don't keep up with the team during the week to only turn their tv of at halftime. Any real fan would know that the offensive line is the reason for a stagnant offense. I hate the know it alls that just wasn't too bash Cam, our receivers, or Greg Hardy because they listen to every lie the media spits or of their mouth. Actually watch the game please.

Rage over.

Some middle age fat redneck type guy w/a Panther jersey told me that the team needs to get rid of Cam!It was on the walkway to the seats and the security told me to keep moving,so I wasn't able to reason w/him!

I hate a lot of Panthers fans. I hate a lot of Cowboys fans, and Steelers fans, and Saints fans, and Bucs fans, and Patriots fans, and Jets fans, and Giants fans. I'm a hateful kind of dude, I suppose. However, living in Philly, my exposure to and hatred of Eagles/Phillies/Flyers/Sixers fans is exponentially higher than my hatred for any other fan base at this point. There is a special breed of stupid here that is like nothing you'll ever encounter anywhere in the world.

    • That depends on where he's at because if you look at his first 3 seasons before he got sick he had 49 rec as a rookie followed by 56 and then his pro bowl season he had 103 rec. If he's somewhere between seasons 2 and 3 then that wouldn't be bad at all. We'll have to wait and see but from the few clips I've seen and the comments I've heard and read I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case. Personally, I'm really pulling for him and I think he's going to be the comeback player of the year.
    • More praise of Renfrow from Tim Weaver (formerly of USA Today's Panthers Wire, now SI.com), and also what I told some of you, my Huddle friends, from the start: keep it all in perspective, and don't conveniently---and perhaps unfairly, discount and label Renfrow as a JAG when it was a very debilitating illness affecting his play.    "It's understandable to be skeptical about Renfrow's abilities at this late point in his career. After all, he missed all of last season due to a bout of ulcerative colitis that also took a serious toll on his production in 2022 and 2023."   When Renfrow is healthy, he's an above average guy. Being 29 may hurt or help his chances depending upon perspective, but 29 for receivers generally means that there's still (sometimes plenty) gas in the tank. Renfrow also obviously has plenty of motivation and has come with his game face.   "Then agan, seeing is believing and by all accounts Renfrow has been very impressive since joining the Panthers a few months ago... Where Renfrow will fit in Carolina's new-look receiver corps remains to be seen, but at this rate it's going to be hard to exclude him from the initial 53-man roster." https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/hunter-renfrow-sick-route-panthers-training-camp Read the room, ladies and gentlemen. And don't get it twisted; Renfrow isn't the most talented receiver on the team, but we have seen his ceiling, when healthy, in a Raiders offense that wasn't necessary replete with talent. Consider what he can do, especially in the slot, in a Panthers offense primed with young talent (no pun intended). From sick to "sick routes," eh?
