Addison has played pretty well in Hardy's place...he's actually top 5 in sacks currently. .    We really just need CJ to dominate like he used to, and then maybe our DB's wouldn't be getting abused so bad out there

So Addison made 2.5 good plays.  Good for him.

I realize that but Gettleman has apparently forgotten he's all about the Hog Mollies on that oline.

I don't think he forgot about it.  I do think he felt just wasn't much he could do about it and still fix the issues at wide receiver.

Personally I wish we would have kept Smith.  We didn't save much cap space by cutting him, and we had to pay Cotchery and Avant.  Then we maybe could have picked up some help on the oline or re-signed Mitchell.

I can only hope that Gettleman is looking more at long term than immediate results. If he is and it works out, then I think most of us will be happy.  Fwiw, Benjamin looks like a excellent pick at least.

    • Nfl leaders don't look at the population of just the city itself.  Charlotte has three of the top fifty combined statistical areas within a 1 to 1.5 hour drive.  Charlotte, Greensboro/WS/High Point, and Greenville Spartanburg.  Those three statistical areas include nearly 7 million people.  Other than Raleigh, the only one in the top fifty within an hour and half of raleigh is Greensboro.  So only about 4-5 million people.  Charlotte has many more people to draw from.   Also, many of the surrounding communities for Raleigh are not native born.  If memory serves, many still refer to Cary as Containment area for relocated Yankees.  One of the reasons the Canes do so well is a significant portion of the population are people who moved from Northern Areas.  Would that population translate into support for a NFL team?  Hard to say, but I see a tremendous amount of Giants/Jets jerseys in the triangle when I forced to endure the crazy traffic on 40/85.
    • This will also be prime Training Camp meltdown time on here lol. Preseason game 1 August 8th, i'm guessing camp starts around July 25-27th
