Alright, bear with me here. I'm not one to make stupid threads but I think this is something seriously in question. Gettleman has yet to put any decent faces in on the OL since he's been here. Newton is constantly getting beat up and doesn't have many weapons around him when he does have time. Gettleman doesn't seem to be too generous with the money and is probably going to try to get Newton on a bargain coming off a bad season. So, question is, does this affect Newton's contract signing? What do you guys think?

It's almost as if DG is trying to sabotage Cam's career. If i was Cam, I'd never sign another contract to play for DG. Starting the season with Bell and Chandler as the starting Tackles(and seeming totally fine with it) is beyond moronic.

Gman is worrying me. I like a lot of what he's done but the rest is just plain fugin scary.

He made his feelings known about Cam since his first day here.

Cam was lucky we had a winning season last year. I'm a huge criticizer of Cam, but def worry about his future here in Carolina. This is not what you want in a 4th year QB; esp a no1 pick.

Seriously? He played college football at Auburn and grew up in Georgia. Get the fug out of here. That's not even what's in question

A significant percentage of the 'fanbase' questions rather or not the guy can read a defense. The FO has put him behind Byron Bell and Nate Chandler. They released the best WR in team history. It is a credible to his abilities that the WR core has been as effective as it has been. I wouldn't blame Cam if he left.

If I'm his agent, there are no contract discussions until there is a legit effort to protect him. I'm telling Gettleman you have two years to protect my guy. He'll play under the option next year and then you can franchise him for a year after that. Good luck fitting a 2nd tag under the cap and that's what you'll have to do to rent him for another year if you don't protect him.

    • Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.
    • All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
