They played like hot dog poo in the first half.  They were average in the second.

The offensive line was not good today. They gave up a sack on a crucial 3rd down play that took us out of field goal range. Byron Bell had a holding penalty that negated a nice pass to Olsen when we were backed up against our own endzone. The run blocking was streaky at best. Chicago was getting a lot of pressure and they were knocking down a lot of balls at the line.

 

The good news is we can win when our O-line plays like they did today. We really have a lot of room to grow. Now, how long will it take them to take the next step? We need to find that out.

Sack percentage today  5.7%...well below Newton's career average.

 

Only two QB hits allowed.

 

Newton for the most part had a clean pocket for most of the day. 

 

The got some push in the run game.

OL responsible for one turnover. Outside of that they werr decent.....showing again that they simply can't play a 3-4 and function well enough against 4-3

it was fairly terrible. credit to shula (or somebody) for adjusting to the weaknesses and for unleashing cam to make more calls at the line, which seemed to help.

They seem to play better against slower 4-3 pass rushers, in a 3-4 the guys are probably a little quicker..

Cam had pretty decent time in the pocket, except on those long developing plays.
