There's a handful of tackles in the draft class this year that could come in and immediately start over dumb and dumber.

This upcoming draft is to tackles as the last one was to WR's. Gettleman screwed up by not taking another WR imo and I hope he doesn't make that mistake this upcoming draft with the tackle position. Give this team a OL and a few more secondary guys and it'd make a HUGE difference.

Chris Hackett, Sterling Shepard, Phillip Dorsett all guys I'd like to see us look at in the later rounds.

Cam has been hit more than any qb in the league. thats not just sacks.

if you haven't noticed cam is getting better in the pocket. i agree with getting some veterans but dude we have no money. and they would probably suck just as much as bell and chandler if we did get what we could afford (which is basically nothing) and have to learn the system.

Cam is getting better in the pocket.  Which is why in the second half against the Bears when we had to pass, he was protected well despite us being one dimensional.  Even on the sack fumble in the first half it looked as if Cam dropped back beyond the pocket, and he could have stepped up.

I'm not really sure what your suggesting.  It sounds like your stopping short of saying you want us to reach for a T even though that feels like the inference.  By the time we pick there won't be a true 1st round T available.  We're better off getting Gurley and trying to trade up in the second to nab the best of the second tier tackles.

We've focused on defense in the past two drafts.  We have got to get Cam weapons now.  I say RB(only if Gurley is there), T, WR, G, LB, S, CB

no i'm suggesting that if a bonafide franchise tackle is there and gurley is there i take the tackle.

i'm not saying anything about reaching.

and they protected well because of no huddle and cam's quick throws dissecting the defense that had to stay in the same package.

Cam is better suited for the CarolinanoHuddle. He was in college and he is in the pros.  Cam prefers the no huddle.  Pretty much said so in his press conference.

I agree that if a bonafide franchise T is there we need to take him, but I'm operating under the assumption that they'll all be gone by the eighth pick just like every year in the draft.  We'd be fools to pass on Gurley if he's there in the middle of the 1st.

If Amari Cooper and Gurley was there at our pick.  I would take Cooper.

Have some of you lost your minds?

I swear I feel like I am listening to Mike Lynn and Marty Hurney debate on how to build a winning franchise.

I never said anything about signing Darrin Reaves to a 36 million dollar extension.   If you even mention a RB on the board Hurney PTSD starts flaring up all over the place.

No, if you talk about wanting to draft a 1st round RB, like no smart teams are doing any more, you are going to get criticized like you should.

You don't build a consistent winning franchise by spending 1st round picks on RB's.  Have you not learned this lesson?

Marhsawn Lynch was the 12 pick and San Fran seems to be pretty good and their known for drafting RB's in the first.  I know Lynch was drafted by Buffalo but he's making more then any rookie would, but he's worth his weight in gold.  The Ravens won a SB and I know it's to early to say Ray Rice was involved in any of that.

Gurley is the exception that proves the rule.  He's the best RB to come out since AP.

If we take Gurley, thats alot of money and resources tied up in just one position and whenever Cam returns to his normal self then his mobility alone will make any running back better.so its kind of like d.. if you do and d.. if you don't

Rookie pay scale.  I think Gurley's cap hit would be like 2-3 mill.  That's chump change.

    • i think the difference is that we win when we minimize Bryce as part of the offense ala Trent dilfer. look at the games we win and he us always under 200 yards passing.
    • Which is also why we talk about there being a lower ceiling for Bryce I think Bryce sees the game decently well already given the mess this offence has been for the better part of his career. His big WTF plays are typically him just dropping the damn ball Which leaves me wondering sometimes what does peak Bryce look like. Guys like Sam you’d watch in NY/Carolina and he’d have so many boneheaded plays that you were left thinking if he could just clean these up you’d have a solid QB. And now we’re finally seeing Sam in a good offence and he’s able to play with timing and within structure and those boneheaded plays are cut down to 2-3 times a game Bryce doesn’t have a ton of boneheaded plays (minus flat out dropping the ball) so I dunno. I think Bryce can be a solid QB. Put Bryce in Seattle or Tampa and they’re still winning a lot of games  Coaching and overall team matters so much. The only dude that I think could probably do the most with the least in this league would be Lamar
    • They both struggle with that but Lawrence is a significantly better athlete and an INSANELY more physically gifted passer. He has very limited reasons to be struggling the way he has. I will say, when he came into the league I specifically remember an interview that he basically intimated that he would be okay if his life didn't involve football and I have always questioned if he was passionate enough to be elite from that moment onward.
