Official Panthers - Bengals Gameday Thread

the defense sucks. biggest take away from this game

I won't say that they suck but when I watching another game and every time the ticker at the bottom of my screen shows the Bengals still with the ball half way into the 4th Qrter, I would say they are struggling a bit. It's no wonder Cam ended up with a int so late in the game. His throwing arm must have gotten cold from sitting so long.

The chance of it being better than a loss is much smaller than the chance of it being equivalent to a loss.

When we are 8-7-1 and the Saints are 9-7 you'll know.

Dude, fug the saints, if you are using this game as a reason that the Taints will beat us in the division, then I don't even know how to appeal to your logical side. Guess we will find out on Nov 16th

Try using an argument rather than dismissal.

The way I see it this counts as a loss unless we get exactly the same number of wins as someone else in the division.  The chances of that are rather small compared to either winning fewer than another team(in which case we needed a win) or more than another team (in which case this doesn't matter).

It also fugs up our chances of a good seeding in the case we miraculously do make the playoffs.

So if the Saints lose to the same team that we tied then that would put them lower in the totem pole wouldn't it? I mean obviously if they beat Baltimore and Pittsburgh in the next two weeks then yes they would have us in the non conference area, but if we beat them both times, it doesn't matter, right?

Yes.

In the end it is about final record though not if we beat the Saints twice.  We have just fuged up our final record significantly.

We might be able to beat the Vikings and sweep our division.

That leaves us at 8-7-1.

Luckily this season that might be enough but if we give up even one game to a team in our division we are going to have a really slim shot at the playoffs.

We're not talking about mistakes. Mistakes is par for the course when in all sports. I am talking about ceasing the opportunity to WIN. Every team makes their fair share of mistakes. But it's the coach who makes the necessary adjustments who, 9 out of 10, help their team win.

This team has shown time and time again, that it is awful at making the necessary adjustments needed to not compound those mistakes. Even when the team isn't making obvious mistakes, the coaches inability to simply adjust when the team needs to is lacking. That was so blatantly obvious in the Ravens and Steerlers' games.

If you seriously believe football is all about not making mistakes, u cannot a serious sports fan.

Yes, let's totally remove one of the most important aspects of the game just to fit your narrative. This is why nobody here take you seriously, btw.

It doesn't matter if the coaches call a perfect game if the players fug off their assignments. They made so many bonehead plays in the games you mentioned. You can't put it all on coaching just because you feel the need to white knight for a few select players. There's also as much blame to go around as there was chances for them to win today.

Now run along and go watch your Giants lose tonight, Superfan.

U are obvious reading way to much into my point.  Did i say mistakes aren't costly? NO! I said, the team that goes on to win has a coach who knows how to, and makes the necessary adjustments the teams needs  to minimize a player or players mistakes.

If all the coaches on this team are praying for no player to not make mistakes and don't have any way of adjusting, then it's going to be a damn long season for this team. As stated before, EVERY TEAM makes their fair share of mistakes. U seriously believe that winning games is simply playing mistake free football?

We won time of possession by 4 minutes, even with Cincy having an extra drive in OT

Thanks for admitting that all you know about the game comes from watching the ticker tho, that explains a lot.
