Some words from the Giants forum

"There is no reason to think that this game will be at all close. This will be a bloodbath, and not in our favor. Carolina is a team clicking on all cylinders, much like the Giants did last postseason. As for the Giants, can we picture this team scoring more than one offensive touchdown, if that anymore? There is not a reciever on the field that can get open consistently. Even with jacobs back you can't win playing one dimensional football. The defense needs work too, obviously. How many games this year have they given up 250 or more passing yards? That was true even when we were winning. Carolina will win this going away. "

and another poster:

"I think of the weak Giant offensive line, Julius Peppers, Steve Smith and Deangelo Williams - this might be a massacre as Carloina is peaking and the Giants are rivalling Detroit in ineptitude. It is hard to imagine any scenario that has the Giants winning this game."

They just lost two straight games to division opponents.

But let's look at it objectively. Philly has been very good this season despite their record. Dallas is better than their record, having lost their QB for a part of the season. They got their swagger back and could go into the playoffs hot. It's not like the Giants lost to Detroit and Cincinatti.

For some reason this is so true. Those 3 are just physically and athletically intimidating. Hard to beleive two 5'9" guys can strike up this much fear. haha

Well it's good to know that other team's fanbases can overreact as much as ours. This sounds like every post on this board after the Falcons' loss.

Oddly enough, I remember posts like those from Bucs fans right before their first game with us too. Not to dampen our enthusiasm or anything.

    • Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.
    • Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
    • NFL has a huge amount of parity.  The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable.  2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
