Lester Re-Signed To Practice Squad Along With Former Browns OT Martin Wallace

More about Wallace: http://owlsports.com/news/2012/9/3/FB_0903124854.aspx

He's 6'6 - i.e. a Gettleman type player - majored in criminal justice, is known to be very intelligent and is apparently something of a goofball off the field.

(sounds like he and Kalil should get along)

That degree actually makes sense for an NFL player these days...

I would actually prefer Gettles to continue the troll job and attempt to find a WR slower than Cotchery that isn't already on the roster, so we can send them as the lone deep route on our next flea flicker against Seattle.

Yeah that's all good and well but Gettledude doesn't design the plays. Kind of unfair.

Lester is ten times more instinctual than Godfrey.  He just isn't as athletic.  Started and played well in games last year on 2nd ranked league defense.  He had a bad preseason.  Big whoop.

It was reported he didn't make the roster because he cam to camp out of shape and sloppy in technique. They had higher hopes for him than practice squad but he didn't get better during the offseason.

Martin Wallace is the guy who gave up 2 of Michael Sam's 3 sacks this preseason against the Rams. They were both in last minute garbage time. Hail Mary, no threat of run situations. That being said, Wallace looks glacially slow. If you give up consecutive sacks to a player who can't stick to a practice squad, there is a good chance you are terrible.

    • I agree with OP notion, QBs always get credited for game winning drives even if they do minimal. Just last night Caleb got credited for a GE drive when they basically ran the ball the whole drive and only had to go 36 yards.   And there are drives where Bryce could of had a game winning drive if not for a Legette drop vs Philly or a Chubba fumble vs Tampa
    • You are actually, genuinely comparing Bryce to Jimmy fuging Pickles? Jimmy accounted for 3 touchdowns in his 10 starts in 2010. In Bryce’s 10 games post benching last year, he accounted for 20 touchdowns. Jimmy threw three touchdowns in 2010. Three. Bryce has thrown 10 touchdowns through 6 games. He is currently on track to throw for 3300 yards, 28 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Wtf are we even talking about anymore. I mean seriously
    • Tepper? The guy that directs the coaches towards goals that he set for them… that guy. He is the one.    I don’t think he ever was going to be expelled from class, they had him come in for garbage time maybe the 2nd week he was benched.  I will say this. People said he wasn’t under pressure the last part of the year when he did better, but he was fighting for his career and that’s pressure. And he saved his career too. I don’t reject him for those kinds of things I reject him for the physical things. I have always brought it down to he has slim margin for error and has to be perfect. People with the tool set have a little fatter margin for error. Why make it harder on yourself? Got nothing to do with hating him.  I am no statistician but game that margin thing out a lot and see how that works.
