We have so many other needs but Im falling in love with this kid. We've seen Gettleman draft a 1st DL when other glaring needs.

As I updated in my mock, While CJ hasnt had that great of a season and his contract doesn't look good for us.  I'm sure we could get a 3rd off of him with his #'s the last few years.  Do this, Go LT, RT 2nd and 3rd.

Now back to Oakman id be so giddy thinking about the future of our DL and defense with Oakman, KK, Star, and Ealy.  While no big contracts there, a little more breathing room ($$$) for DBs

Oakmans size is huge in the run Game similar to Hardy

I hate to spend another high pick on a DL, but hell I wouldn't mind it. Oakman is a stud. His game is better translated into the NFL.

The future: Ealy / Star / Short / Oakman

It would hurt for some, but you look how Gettleman likes to build his team.  Like the Giants run, Defense and DL.  CJ isnt safe this offseason with his big contract.  A Ealy/Oakman combo on the outside of our 2 young stud DT's to have the defense back to where it was last year and a much higher potential than even last years DL.

I feel with the way we are going now and be sitting there will be a Solid LT in the 2nd round for us (not a sure fire top 10 talent guy but a HUGE upgrade over Bell)  and a good enough RT in the 3rd.  With CJ gone there will be a little more wiggle room to find a real #2 WR we haven't had in a long time.  Plus some team may be willing to trade a 3rd or 4th for a proven pass rusher.

Our Defense could be right back to last years level if not better (which carried the team)

2 new OT's which will be much improved what we have now.

My dream scenario Mock would be Drago in the 2nd and Daryl Williams in the 3rd, then possibly pick up a 3rd for CJ then use that on Green to go right back to be KB's #2

I love Drango, but feel that he's a 1st rounder. I can live with that mock if happens.

(1) Oakman

(2) Ereck Flowers

(3) Sean Hickey or Jake Fisher

Would trade CJ for a 6th round after this season.

I feel that Drango could fall to the 2nd. There are several OTs that projected higher than him. Plus the amount that took OTs high last year combined with several RBs and other positions seen deep and projected high that teams will jump on

    • They're sneaky good.  Very good.  And they had the personnel to match perfectly against us.   Seattle played really straight forward cover-2 and cover-3 pretty much all day.  They had some nice simulated pressures in cover-3 that baited us to move more quickly than we needed to.  They just totally cooked us.  It was a full Macdonald checkmate against Canales & the offense.       The recipe: Contain the run game enough (check) and have the LB & secondary athleticism to shut us down in the air (check)      For any team that can match our OL's run blocking, just run a cover 2/cover 3 all-day.  Similar to what the Saints did.  Pepper in some simulated pressures to bait Bryce while you're at it.  Bryce doesn't play the best against zone.  Huge weakness, averages like -.09 EPA/P in his career.  How that actualizes - from my eye test as a silly fan, he just doesn't have the velocity for the shorter/intermediates from in the pocket to the outside to get guys the ball in space vs zone.  His best games (Rams, Falcons) was when they had a blitz we caught, went man, or it was a critical down with a misdirect/PA and he had the space to throw a nice ball, sometimes with anticipation.  23rd rated QB against zone.  24th completion percentage against zone.  42nd against zone ANY/A with a clean pocket.  ANY/A being one of the more consistent correlations to wins you can find out of the EPA stuff you'll see nowadays.  He doesn't even crack the top 32 for eligible QBs.
    • well, I have always said Sam Darnold is Sam Darnold.  Which he always proves to be.  NYJ Sam was at BOA Sunday.   I think Bryce criticism is a one of one.  Because he is unicorn.
    • JT's Stats for the 2025 season. REC: 29 / YARDS: 190/ TD: 1/ Yards per catch: 6.6 The data seems to indicate that JT is not a huge component of our offense. His presence (or lack of it) is not what cost us that game yesterday. Sanders is a big guy but he seems to go down as soon as contact is made. He hasn't produced any "wow moments" in during his 2 years with the team. So far he's proven to be a JAG. I'd rather see Tremble and Evan on the field as our # 1 and #2 TE's.
