A spectacular rocket launch is planned for Monday night and it should be visible for much of the east coast, including parts of North Carolina.

WTKR-TV reported that the Antares rocket was raised onto its launch pad on Saturday and is ready for Monday evening’s launch at 6:45 p.m.

The rocket will blast off from a beachside NASA launch base along the eastern shore of Virginia, according to Universetoday.com.

Here's a map of where it should be visible.

Launch was cancelled because of a boat downrange.  Launches tonight at 6:22pm.  Once you see the launch, later at 8:28 pm you should be able to see the ISS in the WSW sky move as a bright orb across the sky to the South for a couple of minutes.  Last night would've been great because immediately after the launch you should've seen the rocket followed by the ISS.

I'm confused, so it did it launch or not?  I was hoping to see it and forgot all about it yesterday. What did Arsen and Sunbunny see?

Was it cancelled because of this mysterious orb that Arsen saw? Where the Hell is Venom when I need him?

Why are you soooooooooooooooooooo interested in Rockets???

We Rockets tend to stick together and look out for one another. Although Antares has always been kind of the black sheep in the Rockets family and started hanging with the wrong crowd. That's why he is being sent away for a bit.

Ha, yeh, you kinda went nerd there bud.
