Why is Lafell such a elite WR now? What did we do wrong? Coaching? WR's coach? Dunno....

lol nowhere near elite but definitely a combination.  He's working with one of the best QB's of all time along with one of the Best coaches.

Lafell was never horrible here, just as with Munnerlyn, Cotchery and Godfrey (the list could go forever)... we had him at a position where he never should have been and that is our #2 WR.  He is definitely serviceable and could make some good plays but HERE in OUR system he couldn't ever get over the hump of above average.

I was actually mind blown typing that. I really don't know what it is, I want to say it's a lack of this and that, or that he and Steve were expected to do too much, granted they are on better teams this year. But their stats don't lie this season, they just don't.

I dunno if he is elite, but he is a very decent player. It took he and Brady a few games to click, but I would be surprised if he doesn't go for 1000 this season.

I don't care what system you are in or who the QB is, if you can get 1000 receiving yards in the NFL, you are no slouch.

The Panthers had 3 receivers last year fully capable of going for 1000, as a matter of fact, all 3 might do it this season (Smith, Lafell, Olsen). Plus, they had a decent speed only number 3 WR and 3 high quality running backs to boot.

But we need more weapons to succeed !!!

QBS who have a very very excellent pocket

Brady has taken 9 total sacks plus QB hits in this game...that would be the second highest total of the season for the Panthers (11 against Detroit).

And New England only has 38 yards rushing with a 2.2 average.

I disagree but difference of observation. Cam can make all the throws the greats can and his accuracy is better than advertised. The problem is he needs the coaching to be great. Something Shula nor anyone on the staff can do.

Cam is never gonna play the game like Manning/Brady.

Steve Young was never gonna play like Montana did. No point trying to make a square peg a round one.

    • T-Mac is a nickname, Tet is a shortening of Tetairoa. Like you said below... your name is Jonathan, I could see "Jonny" being considered a nickname, but Jon isn't a nickname, it's a shortening of Johnathan, see the difference? And if your mom named you Jonathan for it's biblical significance/meaning, because she was very religious, I think it would be different. T-Mac is Polynesian, so much in their culture has deeper meaning for them, particularly names.  So for his mom to feel this way, I highly doubt it's just because she likes the name Tetairoa and not Tet, it's much more likely than not to be because the name itself has a deeper meaning in their culture.   Particularly as T-Mac himself has often talked about how much his Polynesian heritage means to himself and his family. And no, I'm not saying all this because of how much he's my guy, if he was just "normal american" and his name was Jonathan and he didn't like fans calling him Jon, I'd probably just say tough poo.  It's that he's Polynesian and I know things like names have a much deeper meaning in their culture than they do in ours for the most part. For whatever it's worth, a quick google search.......
