Win..... and you're IN

Despite some people here who seem to want the opposite, I'd like to see us make the playoffs. I think a win against Minnesota could really spark this team, and it isn't impossible we could win in New Orleans. Even in 2010 we were able to lose a 16-14 game there. I mean, there are genuine scenarios this division could go to a 6 win team. It's not out of the question.

Will we make the playoffs? Probably not. But I'd like to see us try.

2010? The fact is we have a winning record there all time.

By the way MN is where last season was kick started too.

At LEAST wait until the end of the week for the optimism posts. There's going to be 30+ pages about Avant getting cut. We are hurting as a fanbase right now.

Let all the frustrations get aired out and THEN we can start possibly looking at Sunday, but to post this right now is bad timing, hence the responses.

For real. I posted that Brandin Cooks broke his thumb so he would be out 4-6 weeks. Everyone was outraged I even put it on this board because it wasn't Panthers related. I mean.....a division rival has an injury and it has nothing to do with us??? Yeh, take it easy on the optimism......and anything that can be perceived as such. Haha!

Steam has ran out on the Riverboat. I want us to win badly..however, this offseason, I'd wish we lost more cause we aren't doing anything this post-season. Best case scenario, lose out and take a high draft picked to be matched with a new head coach.

Also FYI,

    • I don’t go back and look at the espn but there live it definitely said 1 shot 1 goal when it happened. I guess they had not added them yet. Still allowing goals that early is rough. Blue line is a total disaster still. Even with Slavin back. Miller and Nikishin keep making mistakes after mistakes.
    • I generally disagree with the concept of picking a position because of value early in the draft. For instance, if there's a really good safety, RB or ILB at pick 10, I'm choosing him over a project WR or DE. Better players make the team better. A bunch of ok players will give you an ok team. The number 1 goal of the draft should be to improve the overall talent on the team. Not to fill positions of need.  Deciding beforehand that you're picking a LT in the first or second round because Ickey went down is not the way to improve the team. Now if Dan has similar grades on 2 or 3 players and one happens to be a LT, then yeah go for it. But don't pass on your guy at ILB because you have a gap at LT or need to improve the pass rush with a DE. When those guys don't pan out then you haven't improved your team. But that LB could have been a franchise cornerstone for years to come. See Luke Kuechly and Christian McCaffrey.
