Washington Post: Jay Gruden reportedly done with RGIII

Recommended Posts

http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins/for-jay-gruden-the-best-place-for-robert-griffin-iii-is-elsewhere/2014/12/03/911e0cde-7a69-11e4-9a27-6fdbc612bff8_story.html

No actual quotes in the article, from Gruden or anyone else. But this report comes from "multiple people within the organization"

And i wouldnt doubt it either.

Funny how within two weeks Gruden went from RGIII being the starter, to stating he had"every intent that Robert [Griffin III] will be the starter,” vs the colts, to benching RGIII two days after making this statement and saying RGIII would be in the skins long term plans, to this statement

Anyway, its all but official now.

People were hyping this guy up saying he was better than Cam just like they are doing with Mariota now

Mariota might have a better story, or might have a worse story in the NFL than RG3 but I doubt he becomes anything to write home about, guys like him just dont make it in the NFL, Cam is an anomaly

RG3 aint poo and never has been. People still point to his rookie season and that passer rating and TD to INT ratio and say it was a great season. How stupid, he did have a good Yards Per Completion but much of the time his receiver caught it short and had a lot of YAC he wasn't anything special and he definitely wasn't asked to carry the offense like Cam was in 2011

Washington and San Diego should have stuck with Marty Schottenheimer.

Just sayin.

the idea of Shelmon and Kurt Schottenheimer as our 07 coordinators makes me think he wouldn't have lasted much longer. The main reason for his firing was that he was trying to push his brother as DC.

As for the today, Jeff Fisher decided to have a little fun with the Skins at the toss - sending out Jenkins, Brockers, Stacy, Bailey, Robinson, and Ogletree (all players taken with picks from the RG3 trade)

    • You don’t even need 1b because Tepper is the only one foolish enough to wheel that deal.    Player wise? Jake’s elbow. JR and Pep getting sideways, no Carruth, Cam’s shoulder, Luke’s concussions, it would be a long list of stuff. You can take it down to certain plays in games. Fox chasing 2 point conversions in the SB would be on my list. RMJr slipping at the end of that same game was not helpful.
    • Ultimately this just amounts to heavy revisionist history. I mean you aren't talking to someone that just popped out the womb a week ago. I was here all throughout the predraft process. The overwhelming majority of the fanbase felt like this was a fine situation and the best situation for a rookie QB to go to compared to Houston for example. The hype for Young and our "rockstar" staff was off the charts. No one could dare speak cautious skepticism of his abilities or they would be neg repped into oblivion. Only after he had one of statistical worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years did we get this narrative now that his rookie season actually shouldn't count. Complete malarkey if you ask me.
    • On the field? Since I guess it qualifies as multiple instances it might not count, but have the damn refs throw some flags on illegal hits to Cam's head in SB50. If that doesn't count, 1A. Cotchery caught it 1B. Kasey keeps that kickoff inbounds. Off the field? 1A. Team is sold to anyone but Tepper 1B. We have the patience not to mortgage the franchise on that Bryce trade. Stroudwpuldve been the better pick but he's not worth it either.
