So, if we win the South, who do we host?

While I like this scenario, don't underestimate the Panther's tendency to let backup QB's look like Pro Bowlers. See Mark Sanchez

Yeah but the Cards are really bad on offense. They can't run or pass. I htink they're starting RB just got put on IR. They're probably be playing Logan Thomas by then, who is hot garbage. That game might end 6-3

We need Seattle, Detroit, & Dallas to win their division. That's our best case scenario.

#1- Dallas

#2- Detroit

#3- Seattle

#4- Carolina

#5- Arizona

#6- Green Bay

#7- Philadelphia

Wild Card-

Arizona @ Carolina (ARI using 3rd string QB)

Divisional-

Carolina @ Detroit (beat them wk 2)

NFC Championship-

Green Bay @ Carolina

Carolina has like a 0.1% chance of getting to the Super Bowl. That's probably the only road to get there. If the division's fall differently we're possibly hosting Seattle, Philly, or Green Bay for the WC & getting destroyed. Or beating Detroit, Arizona for the WC then getting destroyed @ Seattle, Philly, or Green Bay.

But- if it falls perfectly for us- hey, anything can happen. I can definitely see Green Bay winning @ Seattle & @ Dallas to get to the NFCCG. And if Cam is able to play effectively, I can see us beating Arizona at home- they're down to their 3rd string QB- & going to Detroit & beating a team we hosed in week 2. Then, just like that, 7-8-1 Carolina is hosting the NFCCG.

Crazier things have happened.

I was thinking earlier about the best case scenario.  Seattle wins out and gets the 1 seed and we host Arizona with a third string QB.

Detroit somehow beats the final week for the two seed, GB gets the six.  They then beat the winner of the east and as the six seed they get reseeded to face Seattle, we play a Detroit team we have already beaten.

GB beats Seattle and we host the NFCCG

Every game that needs to happen is plausible if not likely with the exception of Detroit winning in Lambeau

Actually a better scenario might be GB getting the one and Seattle the six and Detroit the five.  We beat Detroit at home, then Arizona on the road, then host Seattle.  I think we match up much better with them than GB

Ding ding ding.

This is the only POSSIBLE route to the Super Bowl (and we'll almost certainly lose to Detroit making it moot).

Detroit at home

Arizona on the road

Seattle at home

Bengals in the Super Bowl

You could at least come up with a path to victory in all of those possible games. Hey, it's better than nothing.

i mean idk this would be the craziest of the crazy but all that matters is that right now it's possible

    • It's not impossible to go from worst to first.  We kept Evero because anyone in there right mind knew our defense was destroyed by injuries, not the scheme.  Evero has been given a plethora of talent between free agency and the draft, not to mention getting DB back. I fully expect our defense to be very good.  I have no reason to think Jones would say something like that unless he truly felt like that.
    • We would’ve played Florida and lost in the 1st instead of the 3rd round.  Montreal would have been the 8 seed.
    • I can't get behind a purely subjective re-draft as a method of defining "top-10 QB" status. That invites bias based on vibes/hypotheticals and can ignore actual on-field performance. You and others have said that Bryce has to be a top-10 QB to justify the pick. That's a high bar, which I'm not against, but we need a clear, consistent way to measure it. When I bring up metrics that Bryce has registered in the top-10 in like BTT%, P2S ratio, catchable deep ball rate, etc... they're waved off as either irrelevant or the expected baseline performance. Meanwhile, volume stats like passing yards or win-loss records, both of which depend heavily on roster talent, health, and coaching, are treated as definitive. That's where the inconsistency kicks in. If no performance metric ever counts in his favor and the answer is always going to be "he should be doing that," then we're not evaluating him... we're just holding him to a curve he can't win against. If this is really about performance standards, then let's define them. But if it's just about confirming prior takes based on height and weight, then let's call it what is it and stop pretending that this is a football analysis discussion.
