Let's talk about BBQ - The BBQ thread

So I wanted to put together a thread where people discuss BBQ. So thoughts to share are recipes, cooking tips, favorite things to grill, your grill equipment set up, etc.

i have a Big Green Egg, a barrel smoker, and a Weber gas grill.

I love smoking pork; butts, baby back ribs, and buffalo turds. I typically use hickory chips.

On the grill, I enjoy cooking steaks on really high heat. Steak typically on has salt and pepper.

I have a really good recipe for a pork dry rub. The "bark" really is really tasty, it Caramelizes perfectly and gives you a sweet taste with a spicy kick.

Interested in the "Texas Crunch"

Its actually a Texas Crutch

It helps a meat get up to temp after a certain amount of time. Some say meat after a certain amount of time wont take anymore smoke flavor anyway.

Some people like them some don't I like them for ribs but not brisket.

It cuts your time down quite a bit.

My favorite thing on the smoker is chicken wings.

Did a few things this past weekend actually. This is a custom built smoker we put quite a bit of work into. Turns out we realized we would need to put this thing on an axle in order to move it around. You can't tell from this angle but the firebox is actually a lowboy 50 Gallon water heater. I'll see if I can dig up a pic from the other side.

Close to a 100lbs of pork shoulder slow and low. Did this one for a charity event last year.

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
