Kelvin Benjamin continues drops in Practice

I don't understand why some "fans" need to bash one of our players in order to praise another. Yes, KB has an issue with drops. Hopefully he'll get that addressed. But, he's still had 1,000 receiving yards and 8 TDs as a rookie while being the #1 WR. That's really damn good. Bene has been an absolute steal as a 5th rounder. Great pick. I'm really excited about both, presently and for the future.

Same reason some idiots don't think you can like both Iron Man and The Dark Knight, or both chocolate and vanilla ice cream.

Everything is a competition by default. One has to be better than the other, and you need to figure out which one is. You can't just accept that "they're both good." They have to choose one or the other or else their own lives apparently have no value.

Knowing that other people like the same things that they like makes them feel part of something, which makes them feel relevant.

The rookie excuse is a weak one. We purposely went into the season with him as our #1 WR. We have to hold him to those expectations. It's like the morons making excuses for Bell because he was an UDFA, holding him to those standards instead of the standards of his job- an NFL starter.

Bell isn't a rookie, KB Is. I don't why you think that it was an apt comparison. Rookie's make mistakes and it often takes years before they really clean it all up. And it's not like we picked KB in the top ten or something. Expectations are good but keep them realistic for god's sake or you embarrass yourselves.

The drops are inexcusable for any NFL WR, regardless of their year. If a ball hits you right in the hands without a defender trying to break it up, it should be caught. He should be embarrassed. The whole world can see it.

I don't think "concentration" is the right word.

People joke about him droping easy passes and catching the tough ones, but that can be a legitimate issue a lot of guys face for one simple reason:

A perfectly thrown ball slows down in mid air. It delays, and you start to think, and think about what to do with your hands, and what you should do after you get it, and start worrying you're going to drop it and many times it can result in blowing it.

Balls that arent on the money don't force a guy to go through that. They force you to act and not think.

I don't think he's not "focusing" as some here so generically point out. I think he's "overfocusing" and I think more and more reps and more and more practice will generally alleviate it.

It should also be noted that because he's big he has to deal with a lot more contact crap that doesnt get called than smaller WRs get that can affect his ability to make the catch.

That's really not fair to Steve. He came into the league under different circumstances. He didn't get as many opportunities as he should have.

Kelvin is good in his own right but you cannot compare Steve to Kelvin. Only contrast.

but that's what normally happens to rookie WRs and that's my point.

Some people on here are thinker then molasses on a cold January day.

Based on some of his mannerisms throughout the season, I'd say it's deeper than that. He overthinks Cam's passes because he doesn't trust them to be where he thinks they should be. He needs to get over it.

    • Having trouble finding all these articles saying the Raiders withheld information. Here’s the latest from Crosby’s surgeon: ElAttrache told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday morning that Crosby was "doing very well in the early part of his rehab and recovery from surgery to treat a significant meniscus tear and the related stress injury to the bone and cartilage in his knee. He is certainly on track in his planned program." "We truly respect the work of the Ravens' staff with Maxx regarding the contract physical exam. We also understand the challenge the staff faces when tasked to provide a future risk assessment based on an evaluation early in the recovery process," ElAttrache said. "This is especially challenging when dealing with an elite player like Maxx considering the level of commitment necessary for a team to obtain him. The timing of this assessment is unfortunate because the apparent risk will lessen as his recovery progresses and his return to performance over the next few months becomes clear."     So the Ravens excuse is the future risk assessment based on the physical, not that the Raiders withheld information. They found an excuse to save face publicly. They had the right to cancel the trade for no reason at all, but they’re trying to save face with the most acceptable reasoning they can find. I’ve heard and seen the Ravens getting dragged everywhere for this. You know what would be an easy way to put a stop to that if you’re the Ravens and the Raiders were actually the shady ones withholding information? Just come out and say that you were not given all the medical information. But they aren’t saying that. I guess they’re just taking the bullet for the Raiders just because?    Speculation indeed.
    • Two first round picks for a guy with very questionable knees who will be 29 this summer. Yes it is safe to say the Ravens got cold feet.
    • The salary cap is the reason we got Phillips and Lloyd
