You guys realize of course how easy it is to cover a guy when you know what route he is running right? And knowing what route he is running gives you a pretty solid idea of what route the other guys are running (hint: underneath his route) which leads to pick-6's.

If Hill can't grasp the playbook so you send him on one or two routes only, it's a huge advantage to even a moderately competent defensive coordinator.

It's not as simple as just telling him, "go fast Stephen and take the top off!"

Honestly, it is not really worth discussing since Webb/Bersin would play over Hill anyways.

WR Philly Brown (shoulder) and FS Thomas DeCoud (hamstring) were limited in practice today. Rivera is feeling better about Brown's status.

I still do not understand this board's obsession with Stephen Hill. Bringing Hill in to run go routes into the teeth of a Cover 3 won't help the offense much, if at all.

Joe Webb has possibly the second nicest catch of the season guyzzzzzz...

Hill's route tree in NY consisted of 2-3 routes. I'm guessing he's still raw as hell and NY did very little if anything to help develop him from his GT days.

I wish we could have someone else return punts and have both Webb and Hill active if Philly can't go.

Bersin muffed a punt earlier this year against Seattle and called for a fair catch at the 8 when there wasn't a Seahawk within 10 yards. I just don't know how anyone including Ron can feel comfortable with him back there. I'd like to see Bene given a shot, he's got good ball skills and I'd have him fair catch it unless he has a lot of space.

All I know is Bersin scares the living daylight a out of me everytime he fields a punt, I'm very serious, I wish Rivera would just put noone back there and let the ball land where it lands. We just don't have anyone capable enough, just don't put anyone back there and hope it bounces in the endzone or we get a favorable bounce.

Can't they slap some of that Kerri Walsh shoulder tape on it? The guy is 5'11" 180.. we can't be relying on him heavily for blocking.

 

If he can't go, I say we just sign Taye Biddle. He is the next big thing.

Regardless of who travels with the team, I'd just like to see the offense be a little more aggressive. We've lost the last 2-3 times trying to beat Seattle at their own game - defensive battle, ToP running and conservative passing. I don't like the idea of Cam trying to best RW in "magical last drives". He can't win that game. Not yet. I say throw caution to the damn wind. We're playing on house money anyway, cause we ain't even supposed to be here.
