Kaps contract is 19 mil per year average 11.4  %Guaranteed

 

 

No qb has a fully guaranteed contract besides the rookies. Kaps Contract dollar wise is the 6th highest for all QB's Cam will want to be higher than Dalton but with more Guaranteed reseasonbly Cam should get around 19.5-20 mil average with 18-20% guaranteed.

 

 

Now if Cam wants more guaranteed then his average per year will come down.

Yeah ok I can see that.  Base salary will be low and he will get a signing bonus which would be prorated over 5 years.  2016 his number will jump above 14 mil.

It depends on whether we think we can live with his 14 million cap hit this year. If so we have him locked up through 2015. If we want to lower the number for 2015 we will negotiate now. It likely depends as much on Newton and his agent as much or more than Gettleman.

CRA is exactly right.

For example, the first year cap hit of Flacco's big deal was 6 million.

Both sides gain with a new deal. The club has their franchise player locked up, often with cap savings. The player gains long term financial security. It will be a win-win if they can get it done.
