Google Fiber is a go in Charlotte

Good luck getting that in Mint Hill  :P

Seriously though, it'll probably be years before it gets to the burbs. Highest population density areas are likely going to get it first because that is more $ per foot of fiber laid.

I'm in the highlighted map so I assume I'm getting it.

The only map I've seen is an unofficial map some dude put on his blog. This is what Google said on their Twitter yesterday:

Google Fiber

@clemsonsteven We don't plan to offer service past Charlotte proper at this time, but register for updates here: http://goo.gl/XP2UDE

I actually was looking at that map on google yesterday... I could zoom in and poo.  I just checked it again and google took that map down and replaced with a word "In Progress"

I live in Mint Hill but my postal service is Matthews and my house located 3 miles from Charlotte city limits.

If you're within 5 miles of a fiber hub you might be alright.

Even if you don't get fiber, with fiber coming to town, it is almost assured that TWC raises speeds, won't throttle your speeds, and doesn't implement data caps. It is the only way they'll be able to keep people from fleeing to Google and I doubt they'd be so specific as to say a Charlotte customer gets all those advantages and a Mint Hill customer doesn't.

The map actually showed only about 2% of Mint Hill getting Google Fiber... I was in the 2%.  Map showed part of Matthews and tiny part of Mint Hill getting google fiber.

    • I know it was obvious and I know the ref is to blame! But KB is a bum and my original post was about the situation in its entirety. You are right, he did touch him and that's why I said lay down on him to make it obvious. But KB did everything half assed and that is why he had less than a five year career. But the way Cam supported that kid and the way he ended up acting in the end is a dark spot on the franchise. It just doesn't sit well with me and never will. He literally left here talking about ball placement from a league MVP.
    • The Lee Hunter interview with Sheena Quick almost murdered me. That man said he had a 5 years old and a 2 munt year old!! 😂 and all of a sudden I couldn’t breathe!!
    • DLine has to be 50-79 or 90-99. So it’s likely to stay 92 over 62 or 52. Scourton and Phillips can wear a poo ton of numbers as “linebackers”, but the war daddy’s are still pretty limited.
