6. Carolina Panthers: Deride the NFC South if you want, but the Panthers were playing like one of the top half-dozen teams in the league by the end of the regular season. After building back-to-back division winners on a shoestring budget, general manager Dave Gettleman will get his first opportunity to join in the free-agent frenzy next month.

With two back to back playoff appearances and division titles, I think this team is morphing into one with a winning culture where it's playoffs or bust.

I think it'll be Russell Wilson and half of the what was this seasons Seattle Seahawks roster. Give him the contract, he can carry his team folks. They can afford to let some luxuries go..

You know, the guy who still hadnt completed one pass 8 minutes to go in the first half of the superbowl.

Not.

That was a good article. I think with a little Gettleman magic, the Panthers will be in the mix next year. If i had to go out on a limb this early and had to pick one team to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl in 2015, it would be the Green Bay Packers,a team with Aaron Rodgers at QB and good offense and defense balance.

If Gettleman can repeat half of the success of what he did in the draft and free agency last year, we will be a legitimate threat.  Can you imagine the infusion of 10 or 11 contributors in 2 years and all of them under the age of 24?  The future is bright fellas.

Yep, don't mind us, we're just here to kick a little @$$...for a long time.

Sixth seems about right.  The only two other teams you could argue ahead of us right now are Dallas or Detroit, I would probably put Dallas there, but at the same point I would have Denver lower.

Nice to see an article that actually give Gettleman and our young players the credit they deserve.

    • summary: "let's talk about your draft, what did you think about Freeling" Dan:   guys with a huge upside, can come in and compete to start.  High ceiling "he does what for your offense?" Dan:   it's hard to find left tackles, guys that big and athletic.  We have Icky coming off an injury, we signed Walker, I believe your offensive line can never be too strong.  If we're going to win the game, it's gotta be up front on both sides of the ball, so we make a point of emphasis on making both sides of the front as strong as possible. "how many mocks did you see Monro falling to you." Not many times, left tackles are gonna go a lot earlier than when we took him.  We want to add the best player, in free agency or the draft"  that's our philosophy, to get the best players possible. "Hunter and Brazzell." Dan:  we followed the board.  Lee we felt very highly of him , super strong.  Brazzel so flexible and loose, can open the verticle.  Will Lee we held in high regard. "you take a look at your receiver room, Coker, my goodness, your offensive rookie of the year in Tet.  Lost Rico, but there is Jonathan Brooks. " Brooks coming off two knee injuries, he worked his way back, looking great, fully healthy, will help in pass and run game.  Icky, not sure when he's coming back but we're excited about both "plan on extending Bryce" we'll keep talking, will keep internally.  We believe in him, has such a great grasp of Canales and offense, has improved every year. "he's clearly come back from the benching, the arrow is trending up, where does he feel" Bryce knows where we stand with him, when and if a deal gets done, he knows we feel great with him, we'll get something done at the right time. "if this a prove it situation?" everyone in the building has to prove it, has to earn it. Tmac was everything we wanted, his work ethic, he's so big and talented, but he puts the work in, and is a great teammate. "your level of expectation, the building's level of expectation for 2026 "our goal is to win the division every year, we know we have to earn it.  we have to put the work in every day, proving it on the practice field, and our  guys know that." "schedule" we haven't opened at home in 2 or 3 years.  We love prime time games, hope we get some "
    • this one is gold:     Bryce has a cult inside the Panthers fanbase that has truly developed some NPC hivemind. I'll never understand how he's captured the true essence of the casual fan like that.
    • "everybody has to earn it, heading in the right direction, feel great about him, get it done at the right time"     Mother fuger
