Celebrate the Saints demise here

Ive read and heard several opinions on this trade.  Here is my take.  Saints got a good player in Max Unger.  He will anchor that line and it seems like the Saints are going to go to more of a run philosophy.  The 1st Round Pick they got in return was a good get as well.  The downside though...

1) If they do go to more of a run philosophy, thats good news.  Saints were very good at passing the football.  Their problem isnt offense, its defense.  Switching up to a run game makes them a worse team imo.

2) They trade Jimmy Graham.  Let that sink in for a bit.  Top 2 TE in the game and a player we always gameplan for.  Sucks he is going to another nfc team, but we wont have to face him twice a year.  Its just shocking im typing about Jimmy Graham being traded... just shows you where the Saints are as far as cap goes.  Whos next?

The rumor is Drew Brees for the top overall pick. If they make that trade, they will have 3 first round picks.

Having Jameis Winston, 2 first round draft picks should have the Saints in rebuilding mode for only a few years

That would be very smart for the Saints in my opinion.

Bucs would be stupid to take it, but they also started Josh McCown last year so I wouldn't put it past Lovie.

Why would Tampa be willing to make that trade?  A qb who has a couple of years left, while their division rival picks up a potential 10-15 year starter?  I could see Miami doing it, but Tampa would have to take leave of their senses to go for that deal.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
