Do you think Cam would ever pull a Chris Borland?

Yes, i know some of you will read the title and automatically post the "omg stop positing dumb threads" posts without even reading this. This is NOT a Cam bashing thread whatsoever, so dont worry.

Frankly, when you look at the big picture, there is no denying that while EXTREMELY unlikely, there is that slight possibility. I do and have expressed my criticism of Cam, does he have his faults as a QB? Yes. Have I expressed those thoughts? Yes. However, despite Cam's faults there is no denying he is hands down the most gifted QB the Panthers have ever had.

Looking at the big picture of what is happening around the league with players retiring early due to future health concerns and looking at Cam's big picture, you atleast have to give some merit to the idea that while unlikely, there is a SLIGHT reason for concern.

Look at all Cam has been through. Especially in the last year. Off season ankle surgery that even he admitted he felt as though the doctors werent totally honest with him about the extent of the surgery. He then comes back and gets his ribs injured in the pre season, he misses his 1st game ever as a Panther and according to multiple reports was livid about the decision. Then when he is healthy again to finally play, he then is thrust behind the worst O line in the league and gets hit time and time and time again.

Then he is involved in a car accident, thankfully he was fine. Then he is a nightclub where a shooting took place. Now grant it, those last two things are unrelated to Football, however they could possibly make Cam have a "a ha!" moment and make him think hard on life in general.

Also look at the fact that between his endorsements, commercials, the money he has made in the NFL already and his clothing line, financially speaking he is in excellent shape to up and leave football at a moment's notice and still be a very very rich man.

Now grant it, Chris Borland and Cam's situation is different seeing as how Chris Borland left after his rookie season. I meant more in the context of do you think Cam would be an early retirement candidate? Is there cause for concern?

Ok, all I see is bashing when I just simply brought up a legitimate concern with the current climate in the NFL. I did not say that I think he is, considering all the facts I just thought it would make for intresting thoughts and discussion.

There is no denying that Cam has probably been through more adversity than any QB in the league the last year or so. Injuries, surgery, car accident etc. I think ANY NFL player that has been through what he has been through in this current NFL climate atleast warrants discussion

Please just go away. At first you were kind of funny but now you're just becoming annoying. You're occupying good Huddlers with your moronic posts when they could be actually making threads that are worthwhile. Just stop please.

please feel free to make these 'worthwhile' threads of which you speak. I don't see how someone else's threads are stopping you.

Freedom of speech. If you don't like what he writes, put the ignore function to use. Whining is worse then a bad thread.

This is when I knew the thread would be stupid.

    • He only wants to be traded because it's the Vikings who are calling. If he didn't want to be here, he could have retired, instead he took a pay raise to come back for another season.  I get it, it's an opportunity that he'd like to take, but we shouldn't cut off our nose to spite our face because he now wants to jump at this opportunity less than two weeks before the season starts. I'm not against trading him, I'm just against trading him for a return that doesn't help our team as much as having him on the roster would.  I'll put it this way, if a 5th is the best we can get for him from the Vikings and he's now dug in on not wanting to stay this year, I'm saying screw you and trading him to any of the other 30 teams besides the Vikings for the best offer we can get. He was perfectly happy here a week ago, if the Vikings soured him on that and then want to get him for peanuts, then screw them both.
    • Yes and no, he wants to go back and his wife most definitely wants to go back. He took a bunch of team mates to Minny and has worked out with JJ two offseasons in a row. It's where both him and his wife are from.    The money was basically a please come back and help Bryce. Pretty please...here's some more money.    Now he's agreed to a paycut to go back to the Vikings.
    • Because he won't be here next year, we aren't winning this year and we need to see if Renfrow or Horn can be that guy going forward. If Bryce isn't good enough to do poo without AT we need to find that out this year as well. I'm fine keeping him but his role needs to be slowly reduced throughout the year anyway so we know what we have for the future
