Workout Question

Your first problem is wanting to workout for how you look and not for your health. Get in shape to get in shape and have the ability to use your body better, not for the looks. I didn't do any weight lifting back when I was a prize fighter and I was in significantly better shape than all the other guys who did heavy lifting and I got more gals than those fellas too. Size is what lifting weights builds, not strength. I was stronger than all the guys lifting heavy weights and quicker too with more stamina.

I am in great shape from all the sports I play (basketball, cross country, high jump, golf). And I want to have a chest for my self. Not for females, trust me I don't have much trouble in that department. I just want to get a chest

Should be able to get what you want with a poo load of push-ups. Look up variations of push-ups and hit it hard three days a week.

I'm gonna be lifting during my basketball period now since I'm done with bball, but I'm planning on 100 pushups when I wake up and go to sleep to add on to what I do in the weight room

Buy a pullup bar you can put on your door frame, it's really cheap. Your age and size lead me to believe you'd be more likely to do body weight stuff at home opposed to trying to dive into the deep end of weight lifting.

Body weight exercises are a great start and can definitely give results. You can do pull ups, pushups, and squats everyday depending on how quickly you can recover (i.e. how sore you are from previous day). start small and work your way up, it takes time but if you commit you should start seeing changes ~3weeks.

I know your main goal is your chest but if you just do a bazillion pushups you're going to look a little out of proportion because you're 6"3' if you don't touch your legs.

As your reps increase you need to eat more calories, especially protein. Can buy protein shakes, Cams Greek yogurt etc.

Have to start somewhere, good luck.

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
