Apparently we have bees...

we're losing too many bees already

plus, if they're actual honey bees, there's likely someone local who would love to have another swarm for honey and could/would gladly come get them for free

Saw where Lowes announced a couple days ago they would stop selling all bee harming pesticides.

yep, saw that

my wife and I have been a little bee crazy lately... she's been wanting a new hobby for years now and is thinking of tackling bee keeping.  it's nice that Lowe's is making the change, but they also announced that they'll continue to sell their current inventory (which, I understand from a business perspective), so they're not guaranteeing that they'll be finished selling it until 2018

In the attic at my office...  the landlord just came up after they found a water leak on their side of the upstairs this morning and when they took the ceiling down, bees are flying around... must be a hive in the attic.

Yay.

Anyone dealt with this?

1. New Hanover Beekeepers Association

2. beeremovelsource.com

3. Adkins Bee Removal

All well known and good bee wranglers. Most exterminators will not take on a bee problem, opting for removal versus mass killing.

I am an avid watcher of Shark Tank and there was a bee company on the show last week that was rather impressive and seemed like a great place to order a hive and supplies from if you decide to so it. He was some computer tech guy that quit his job to start this business up with his wife and it has been thriving.

Free shipping I think and different size hives to choose from.

The HVAC guy got here first and he was going up... I asked him if the landlord told him about the bees, he said "what bees?"  and off he went downstairs... lol

Guess the landlord forgot to mention it... but, turns out, no bees... at least not that the HVAC guy saw.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
