Word on the street: Gurley going top 10

Recommended Posts

Dont understand the statement "he is a rb so the value isn there". The run game is just as important if not more important than the passing game today. The value is there if the guy you pick is worth it.

You can get just as much production form a guy in rounds 2-4 as a guy taken in the first these days. It's the same reason Guards are generally taken in the 2nd rounds and later. Yeah they are important, but you can find a guy just as good or better in a later round.

Case in point, every RB taken in the first round since 2008.

The running game is not as important as is constantly emphasized on this board every three minutes and drafting one in the first round is the least efficient way to do it by far.

Even Seattle, the team most often referenced when they want to talk about how much running matters more than anything else barely invested in Marshawn Lynch when they traded for him. They didn't spend their best pick or play their ace on an unproven commodity coming off an injury. This guy has just about as much of a shot at being the next Trent Richardson as he does being the next AP.

I mentioned this in another thread, and I don't watch a lot of college ball outside of Stanford so I can't speak on Gurley with any actual insight, but it seems like when I hear people talk about him it sounds just like when I heard people talk about Darren McFadden which scares the poo out of me.

The reason he is getting top 10 momentum.

Checked in with sources from 5 teams today on Georgia RB Todd Gurley's combine recheck info. Unanimous: Gurley has great shot to play Wk 1.

Gurley's medicals from Indy indicate he'll be back at some point during camp. How it's handled depends on team. But things are on schedule.
