ESPN's Analysis of Our Pick, And Why I Feel It Was The Wrong Pick

Again? We selected KB last year with our first pick.

How did all those years with Steve Smith being the only receiving threat work out?

What do we have after KB?

There is a huge drop in ability after KB for us, everyone minus Ginn struggles to get consistent separation, and no Philly does not get consistent separation (ginn has world class speed, Philly doesn't and he isn't very big). So when defenses play us, all they have to do is get focus on KB and Olsen... On any given play, there's no threat on one side of the field on the outside, so that's much easier to defend.

That's good we don't need depth or starters at any other position. Just WR. Nothing but WRs.

I'm not saying trade all 3, but I were to redo the draft give me 2 out of the 3. Ealy was non existent 90% of the season and Boston wasn't even starting he was sharing reps and the last time I saw him he was getting burned by Seattle.

The thought that we could of had Brown, Bryant or Robinson next to Benjamin is infuriating.

Why do we have to use are early picks on defense? why? why can't we go defense in the later rounds?

Its funny people keep bringing up how Gettleman hit on his picks last year, the only reason half of them even started was cause we were that bad. And even with them starting we still struggled. Guess what I would trade Ealy, Boston, Bene and for Martavis Bryant, John Brown and Allen Robinson in a heart beat.

I already said this team is more interested in contending 3 years from now than next year. Well Cam might not want to stay here and with that thinking Gettleman might get fired

It's well known that I'm not a Gettleman fan, but there is no way he gets fired while JR is still alive. I think things with Cam are going to be interesting. I think it's been made quite clear that Gettleman isn't building a team around Cam, he's put bandaids together as if Cam is temporary. It all goes back to when Cam first got here, I think the reason we draft the way we do is because Gettleman isn't sold on Cam being his long term guy and isn't going to invest picks in him.

Seattle actually tries to get Wilson weapons

They drafted Richardson, they trade a 1st for both and Harvin and Graham. The panthers don't even try

To be fair they also have a dominant running game and their WRs are perfect fits in that offense. They get separation, find space down the field and are aways coming back to the ball when Wilson gets outside of the pocket.

And now they have Jimmy Graham. They knew they needed a monster weapon in the passing game and the got him.

I hear ya man. We have this QB with seemingly unlimited potential and may never get to witness it. He needs people to grow with. Right now Kelvin is the only longterm guy in our passing game. Olsen has a handful of years left. Cotch and Ginn will be gone in another year or two. Philly is a question mark.

I should probably just go to bed. Sleep on it. Think about it tomorrow. I just genuinely feel bad for Cam and always put myself in his shoes while watching the draft. Winston already has two stud receivers. Carr gets Cooper. Tannehill now has Stills, Jennings, DeVante Parker. Luck now has arguably the best group of receivers in the league.

Don't forget RGIII and Kaepernick...

The only young QBs that come close is Geno Smith, Russell Wilson, and Sam Bradford...to the level of frustration that Cam has a right to feel...

But their teams at least attempted to bring in help it may not have always have worked out...

I just want people to think about where the Panthers and Colts have started...how both teams basically adopted the same foundation with a new defensive head coach...and No. 1 QB drafted...

And then I want people to think about how drastically different our approach to team building has been ever since...

Please. There's 8 more rounds to draft weapons for Cam. This pick makes our defense fuging scary. You'll see.

8 rounds? And yeah I can't wait to get another 5th round wr I hear those guys are fuging amazing! Can't get enough of them! Hey I can't believe this guy want taken sooner! Oh wait he fuging sucks that's why. We need 1st and 2nd round wrs and OTs

Well he isn't investing picks in his successor then either. He just hates O.

Hey! You're onto something...

I'm sure we can find another Philly and Bersin out there this year!

Lol... There's a huge difference in talent between their UDFA at WR and ours. They also invested a first rounder in Percy Harvin the year they actually won a Superbowl. Difference is, they did exactly what many of us here are begging our FO to do... ADDRESS THE WR CORPS IN A CONCENTRATED EFFORT AND LET THE CREAM RISE TO THE TOP. Instead, we sign one or two #6 WRs, and our front office says, "There's the cream. Have fun... Hey look! Another defensive player! *fap*fap*fap*"
