4) There are several poo-your-pants-awesome positives. Barnidge, anyone? The man is a monster. He's working with the first team, he's making receptions, he's getting open deep against hapless safties and linebackers. He's going to be one of Delhomme's favorite targets. Speaking of Delhomme... why hasn't anyone mentioned this guy's stats? He's thrown for over two hundred yards this preseason. That's a joke compared to the Bradys and the Mannings out there, but he's been efficient, mostly un-used (Triple Trouble was going to be my next point) and certainly far from the post-season disaster he was in January.

5) Jeremy Leman. He doesn't come close to deserving his own separate point, but he makes me spill my beer and yell when i watch games, so there you go.

This

Many people thought delhomme played a good game against baltimore

but you haven't heard much tonight because he threw only a handful of passes and it's not a performance that anybody is going to breakdown in that situation

it's not even so much his numbers, which aren't impressive taken by themselves. It's his numbers versus what everyone feared they would be.

I think scherer will have been one of the best offseason additions to the coaching staff if jake parlays this into gametime performances.

The only problem I have with #2 is that if we're playing vanilla, then so are...they. We rev it up for a regular game, so will...they. We bring more agression, so will...they. I think what's at the heart of most doom and gloomers problems is just that...heart. I think they should show it in the preseason and for the most part they did not.

I was at work and saw only a few plays.

1)Leman - Tackle for loss.

2)Leman - Forces fumble.

3)Leman - Recovers fumble.

4)Leman - With another tackle.

And then we take him out, there goes the wind out of my sails. This is the kinda guy we need running down on special teams. Oh, I forgot Landon Johnson, there goes that wind again.

vanilla on the opponents? hardly... pittsburgh was running reverses, miami was running flea-flickers and complicated wildcat options, baltimore got tricky... the only "vanilla" team out there was new york.

fine guys, we wont win a game you talked everyone into it way to go you are a success. im glad our player havent quit before the season started, just think of how you doom and gloomers would act if our team was full of people just like you. o it would be a show for sure. What exactly to you get from pulling for a team that you think sucks so bad every year. go watch golf or something.

No, that's what Pittsburgh and Miami normally do. That was their vanilla version of those things. Stop acting like they were trying harder than we were, it makes you look like the worst type of homer.

Now, were they playing with more heart? I'll give you that.

i didn't mention effort in my post, i mentioned scheme. you may have a case for miami there - they're very gimmicky - but not pittsburgh. And make a concentrated argument against the rest of my points before labeling me a homer

    • 6 pages of tuka and Seltzer arguing is actually 97 pages long
    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
