Davis said he won’t choose the path of Brett Favre, who had a messy breakup with the Packers after 16 seasons and then played with the Vikings and Jets while flirting with other teams after unofficial retirement.

“No Brett Favre,” Davis said. “I’m not bouncing around the world. I’m excited with being a part of this organization. I’m glad they made the commitment to me and I’m definitely not going to let them down.”

It's a good article all around. There's also this bit from OTAs yesterday.

Backup cornerback Teddy Williams worked out a strained hamstring on the side with trainers, as did undrafted rookie cornerback Garry Peters.

Peters, who played at Clemson, hasn’t participated in more than three weeks, and there’s concern he might not have enough time under his belt to justify being on the roster come training camp.

“Apparently (the strain) is pretty bad,” Rivera said. “He missed OTAs and minicamp. We’ve got to get ready for training camp, and he’s missing some valuable opportunities.”

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
