I was going to make the same argument. People have short memories though and only remember last year when the shitty vets started over our unproven unknown youngbloods. Eventually the shitty vets proved to be too shitty, so they put in the young guys and the young guys stepped up. They forget about the year before when we started double digit rookies.

Now FOX... he had a vet boner...

They also forget who was injured and when. People were not healthy all season. It was at times like musical chairs. Once Benwikere & Boston were healthy, they played. Both lines, defense & offense, were shuffled. Corey Brown was out for awhile, which is how we had Bersin covering punts. All the RB's and Tolbert at some point in the season were injured. When your stud youth goes down, you will be very glad to have a vet available, no change needed to either playbook. Hell, even Cam sat out a couple of games & we didn't miss a beat.

I'd also like to point out that for many years we carried 2 FB's on the depth chart. The 2nd one listed was always Nick Goings. I view Brockel as the 2nd coming of Goings & I see nothing wrong with that. ST's, blocking, picking up the blitz, it' all good.

    • Yeah the bench last night was awesome.  There was times we had all three rookies on the court and you have to love that.  Kaulk is getting better and learning how to use his size.  Sion had a game.  Grant and Green have been so great coming in.  I really like this team.  The only player that gives me pause is when we have Tre Mann out there but should be limited if Colby can keep playing. And Moose is such a fan favorite.  Dude plays so hard.  Obviously Miller/Kon/Melo are our scorers but I feel Moose is the heart of the team and gets everyone fired up.  The hive looked rocking last night too.
    • I get this sentiment but a smaller tackle would be prone to get beat by bull/power rushers.  He played with a torn labrum all season and had zero pressures allowed against a very good Georgia pass rush.  I think all the LT prospects have issues. I am starting to like Freeling at 19 if he is there.
    • Best case for Ickey right now might be to take over at a Guard spot anyway, or come back as the 6th offensive lineman. I love Ickey and hope he comes back strong, but the odds aren't in his favor at all. Signing him to anything right now is how bad teams stay bad.
