i don't think so. that deadline has passed for exclusive and non exclusive

The updated CBA pushed that date back until July 22, the same as the free agency deadline. However, there remains a caveat: The club may NOT sign the tagged player to a long-term contract after July 14. That is, the team has until July 14 to sign the tagged player to a long-term contract; afterwards the player may sign only a one-year contract with his prior team, and the contract may not be extended until after the last regular season game.

Not really clear if a new team could extend a traded FT player. Kinda hard to find exact info on this stuff.

you can't extend him, but you can "wink wink nudge nudge" extend him

also who knows what the new cba will say but if all is the same next season a team could franchise him again and not have to pay him the franchise twice in a row fee

this is from a nerd who lives for this crap

I would have rather gotten Oaklands #1 pick...

Maybe now, we can ship Peppers to New England for their #1 pick this season and the one they got from Oakland next year.

How about we sign Peppers to a long term deal and we can have one of the best DEs in the league on our team until his career is over?
