Not gonna lie, I wish they would outsource the surgeries of our superstar players to guys like Dr. Andrews instead of letting the team doctor do it.

Maybe im not being fair but I could have sworn TD's first two ACL surgeries were done by team doctors, both failed, and then his third was done by Andrews and he's been great ever since.

Can someone fact check that for me because my memory isn't what it used to be, even though I don't smoke anymore.

While I can't find WHO performed the 1st 2 knee surgeries, I did find out that the 3rd surgery did something different than the other 2 here:

James Andrews, MD, founder of Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Fla., recently performed ACL reconstruction on Carolina Panthers' Thomas Davis, according to a Deadspin news report.

Mr. Davis failed to return to play after two previous ACL reconstructions, but Dr. Andrews performed a different type of procedure. He used the patellar tendon from Mr. Davis' left knee to rebuild the ACL on the right knee instead of using tendons from the right knee to reconstruct the ACL.

Also found this:

To keep his knee together, surgeons have scavenged his body for parts. The first time, they replaced his ACL with part of his hamstring tendon. The second time, they shaved off a piece of the patellar tendon in his right knee. The third time, they needed part of the patellar tendon from his left knee -- so he had surgery on both knees at once.

Now he gets acupuncture on the knees and a balky shoulder. He owns a hyperbaric chamber to force more oxygen into his blood. He deals with the everyday car crashes that make up life in the NFL. The bridge of his nose is perpetually skinned where the rim of his helmet keeps bashing it. Against Miami, he dislocated his right pinkie so badly the bone tore through the skin. He didn't miss a down.

Pretty sure Andrews did the surgery

From the Observer article linked in the OP.

Team physician Pat Connor performed the surgery on Benjamin on Sept. 10, and the second-year wideout has been going through rehabilitation for two weeks.

“He’s well into his rehab,” Rivera said. “He’s done a great job.”

Exactly what I was thinking.

I

I really hate to say this, but KB was partly responsible because he showed up to camp overweight.

I like KB and I am not being negative about him, I am just saying that I think he learned a valuable lesson from this, that you need to maintain a level of fitness during the off-season and be physically ready on your own accord when you show up for camp.

I hate that he learns this lesson the hard way, and that the team has to suffer for it, but learning the hard way teaches valuable lessons, (I know this from experience) and KB will be a better WR for it.

This is gonna make me seem like an asshole, but since you've already been one by making that post I don't mind so much, but you're an idiot.
