10. Carolina Panthers

Only two cornerbacks have been targeted 20 or more times and have yet to allow a pass for more than 16 yards. Those two are Josh Norman and Bene Benwikere.

 

Ranked 10th in their Power Rankings BTW... but those are elite level numbers.  Imagine how great this defense can be with a consistent pass rush.  How crazy is it that the secondary has played the best out of any group on the defense so far?? (granted Kuechly has been out)

To be fair, those were the best 3 QBs on those 3 teams (probably). So there's your silver lining.

I don't think we need to temper our expectations.  This is something we've seen before, against much better receivers.  They were both rated very high by the end of last season.  It's not all that new.

Bortles is a promising young talent, and despite what most think about McCown, he played A LOT better than what Brees would have.

It is so early in the season you almost have to wait for teams to play more games....

I don't need to temper any expectations, because the only one I have is that they play to the best of their abilities.

 

As such, I'm just going to be happy to see that stat, regardless of who it is against, because they are doing it against NFL quarterbacks and wide receivers. Doing a damn fine job DBs! Keep it up!
