If we beat Seattle....people can still claim we haven't beaten anyone and make the same weak schedule claims.

B/c at that point Seattle will be viewed as slop/garbage and lumped in with everyone else we beat

Thats the funny thing. If we beat them we honestly wont be considered much better by the media, but if they beat us, they'll put them right back as an "elite" team and we'll suck.

I love Norman... I thnk he's great.  But both of his pick six's were balls that should have never left the QB's hands.  The New Orleans pick was simply and outstanding freakishly athletic play   .

Flame away.

To be fair,  the same can be said for every pick 6 ever made.

You and I both know that is absolutely not true.

Sometimes it's a bad luck, sometimes is a superior play by a DB and sometimes it is just a redic terrible read by a QB.

LOL

"Those shouldn't have been pick sixes, because the quarterback shouldn't have thrown the ball"

Yeah, that's not what I said... if he didnt pick six those he's just anoher Melvin White or even worse, Antoine Cason.

Pulllleaseeee.

You don't make the playoffs by being considered good by the media or fans. A win makes us 5-0 and we've beaten a favored Seattle at their place, where few teams win. Good enough for me and it's on to the Eagles game at home.

I agree.

I was pointing out how the media is dumb and holds no merit on how good a team actually is and on their success.

It is true

Pick 6 are hardly ever contested,  thus,  they are run back. If they are contested there is a lot of contact and at the very least slows the play down. A pick 6 happens mostly when a db is not touched and makes the pick in full stride. In all cases,  it was a ball that should not have been thrown.

It's just like in '13.  We won't be considered one of the good teams until we beat the best.  It took beating NE and SF before we started getting any kind of positivity.  Never mind teams like the Steelers get throttled by the Patriots, beaten by the 1-4 Ravens and are still hyped as "oh, they're just hitting a rough patch.  They'll improve soon enough.  Just wait til Big Ben gets back (never mind he was there for both of those games)."  If we hit 8-0, we'll start being talked about as possibly winning a playoff game.

    • in starts, he has played better, been more efficient and outproduced Bryce by virtually every statistical metric that exists in 2025.  And has the 2 head to heads over Carolina.  I mean, your jaw should hit the floor.  But not for the reason you are implying.  That freaking stings.  Denying these realities isn't going to help the Panthers build a better team going forward.
    • He is basically having a polar opposite rookie season than Bryce. 4-3 as a starter on a very bad team.  68% for 237 passing yards and 19 rush per game. 9 TDs,  6 TOs in his starts.  and folks acknowledge the surprisingly play because no one thought poo of the random 2nd rounder and he is player better as a rookie thus far than so many prized picks did as a rookies (not just Bryce but a boatload of dudes).   It's only a sour issue to give someone props because he is a Saint and of course the Bryce thing.  It's like giving the TE in Clev props for having near identical production as the chosen one Tyler Warren.  Fannin is having a great rookie season in a very bad spot.
    • This is a very weird take. The reason Shough doesn't deserve it is because he's only started 7 games. He's doing crazy well for a rookie and out playing plenty of vets with a worse roster. He's waaay above league average in a number of categories during his starts and he passes the eye test in game by making plays. Meanwhile Bryce Young had one of the worst rookie seasons of all time. Still TMac deserves it more. It's only been 7 games for Shough so he doesn't deserve any awards. Even if he gets to 9 he doesn't.
