I know I am late to the party... but I haven't been able to get this guy's voice/production out of my head for the past day or so.

What say you, Huddle? Fans or not?

I'm actually usually opposed to most pop/R&B stuff that comes out today but am not afraid to admit it when an artist comes out that I generally dig. This guy's vocals and production are on point.

Digging around a bit, he seems to have had an almost overnight success thing going on in that he basically hasn't been on the scene but maybe 4 years or so. It seems as though Drake gave him some kind of boost in fame, but tbqh I don't follow Drake or any of today's mainstream rap/R&B artists.

The Weeknd also seems like a little bit of a mystery as far as who he is other than a great singer. I guess I just find him pretty interesting right now.

Hills has grown on me.

He has a band.  I met his bassist and guitarist in my drunken haze while it in NYC last year.  I feel pretty stupid now BC I was asking them what the name of their band was and even wrote it down in my phone.  I follow the bassist on Instagram now and he's constantly posting pics/vids of the venues they're playing at.  As you can expect, they were pretty chill meaning they didn't act like they were hotshots or flabbergasted that I didn't know who they were.

I think The Hills was Illangelo IIRC... I looked him up the first time I heard the song... It is a great beat...

I do believe, from what I read, that The Weeknd does indeed contribute to the production process, and writes all his lyrics actually.

      Any idea what happened to him at LSU? im reading that he was considered a 1st round pick in 2023, had an off 2024 season with only 4 sacks but was also on a horrible FSU team then went to LSU where he was supposed to be on an aggressive defense that should have given him a lot of sacks but he only ended up with one….   was he injured? Did the top SEC competition expose him? What happened? Cause this guy was considered a top prospect .

      Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.

      Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
