Interesting note...

Per PFT, no mention of alleged gay slurs was ever made by Beckham's side during the hearing.

(perhaps that's because they know no such thing ever happened and they realized lying about it could get him in even more trouble if the league checked it out)

They made sure it was out there, to sink into people's head, but also made sure it didn't get traced to them. And if calling a guy a ballerina who does ballet moves during pregame qualifies, then fug the NFL.

Honestly I don't see the big deal even if slurs were used.  People will say anything to get you off your game in the NFL.  Even if it is racist or homophobic, who cares?  They aren't politicians, and everybody knows the only reason they are saying it IS to piss you off.  It literally means nothing, because nothing said on a football field between two teams can mean anything other than "I'm going to beat you.".

What happened when Janoris Jenkins started talking about 89's wife to him?  Steve burned his ass, then broke his tackle, then strutted on into the endzone.  He didn't head hunt.  He put that chip on his shoulder and embarrassed Janoris.

There is zero reason to apologize to Josh Norman, who the NFL fined $26,000 because he wasn't blameless in the matter. Now you can move on.

The End.

I think a deliberate blindside hit that could have ended Josh's career might have warranted an apology. But I'll agree to disagree with you.

He cracked more heads than just Norman's.  He wasn't out of control just b/c of what he did with Norman

Gotta love Smitty:

Quote

Smith does not think officials are held accountable for mistakes the way coaches and players are. He believes that needs to change.

“It’s not going well and somebody is going to get really hurt or they may cost a game to somebody,” Smith said. “Coaches get fired when they don’t do a good enough job coaching. Players get fired when they don’t do a good enough job playing. The Foot Locker dudes, they don’t do a good job…nothing happens.”
