Cris Collinsworth Doubts If Cam Newton Should Be MVP

What do QB specific stats have to do with the MVP? Even though it's mostly QBs that win the award these days, it isn't just an award for the best QB.

Thank you. Even if we accept the proposition that Carson is a better QB than Newton and has better "QB" stats...um the award is Most Valuable PLAYER not QB.

Otherwise AD, LT, or Alexander could never win the award. JJ Watt could never be in consideration. 

So to the poster(s) arguing about how rushing TDs aren't a "QB stat," it does not matter. If Newton had 20 passing TDs but 20 rushing TDs and only 2500 passing yards but 2000 rushing yards and his team was winning...he would still win the Most Valuable PLAYER award.

Cris Collinsworth has a MVP vote, but Al Michaels does not. Michaels said that Newton is the MVP and that he would vote for him. So, Cam has to be undefeated to win the MVP award, but Brady and Palmer can have multiple losses and it's cool?

Collinsworth should have his MVP vote REVOKED with his ridiculous logic. I just hope the other MVP voters don't share Cris Collinsworth's views and vote against Cam.

I watched the game (Minny vs GB) and Colins didn't even bring it up. Same with that ESPN DB from NE at half time said nothing about the Panthers or Cam.

Most people don't like being wrong. Many people were wrong about Cam , so they don't like Cam or choose to downplay/ignore him. 

If Cam was a guy they didn't have much of an opinion on or was a guy they were touting as the next best thing, he'd get a lot more recognition.

I really hope he gets ALL the votes..there's no way Palmer, Brady or even 2/3 of season Russell should get any votes
