On Panther Talk, they just mentioned that Graham Gano now holds the Panthers team record for most points scored in a season by a kicker.

He beat John Kasay by a single point.

Loved Kasay, class act.  

Appreciate Gano even more for his strong leg during kickoffs.  

Never know, that kind of thing could make a big difference down the road.

Kasay won a lot of games for the Panthers with that leg of his, but unfortunately the only thing that is emblazoned in my long term memory when it comes to him is that kickoff going out of bounds during the Super Bowl.

Ah. Didn't make the connection between a FG and the kickoff.

Kasay deserves better than to be remembered primarily for that.  Especially given that the way the defense was playing, it probably didn't matter.

As to Gano, I'd love to know the breakdown of field goals vs extra points.
