Run the Damn Ball!!!!!!

89=#1

Line it up, pound the rock. We should have nearly a 2/1 run to pass ratio at the end of almost every game. We have a top 5 nfl back and two other backs that could start for most teams. We have a good run blocking o-line, and great backs this is our team. When we run the ball on 1st and 2nd and occasionally only pick up 2 or 3 yrds. , sure you will here a lot of boos but so what? Who cares? This is our only chance!!! THE RUNNING GAME........

Then, hit the big play to one of the best WR in the game #89.... go back to the simple stuff, let the run set up the pass, minimize QB turnovers no matter who it is. Do this for this year to give us a chance at a wild card, then get Fox, Delhomme, Hurney the hell out of here and start fresh but for this year this is what we have!

I think Davidson forget this sometimes, and I don't understand that one bit. Running sets up the pass, that's the way the team has been built. Throwing the ball deep to Moose is just stupid. Was Jarrett never open one time? I understand Jake barely had time to get set in the pocket most of the time, but damn, how many receivers and TEs do we have?

here is the gameplan. Run Williams and Stewart. Punt if you have to and play defense. Occasionally mix in some new and creative screen plays to Smitty and the RBs. Most of NE's passing yards come from this stuff.....the play action and deep looks downfield need to quit for the time being.

You are the smartest man alive! We just need to keep it simple.:banghead:

not simple or predictable...we have the talent to produce some nice YAC and need to get create with short passes and screens not having Jake trying to look downfield as much any more. Also, need to run, run, run, punt more some. Give time for the opponent to make some mental errors also.

I am on board with running and short passes, I don't care if we run it three times and punt just no TO's, but no more screens we just can't do it right. I just don't think Jake is mobile enough to run the screen unless it is a WR screen. And no deeps passes to Mushin it doesn't make sense, it is a waste of a down.

Screens are a good idea, we just can't execute them for crap. One of the INTs we had came on a screen, but even outside of the QB position, our team can't sell the play to save their lives. As rarely as we run screen plays, it seems like the opposing defense sniffs out the play every time.

Well to effectively run a screen your QB has to move back from the defenders the Oline lets through and to me Jake is just not quick enough.

    • This draft is 2023 all over again, it's not hard to see. QB's who don't grade out as high first round prospects while at the same time, the following draft class looks to be loaded with elite QB prospects. Drafting a QB just because you need one (or making a bad trade to make said draft pick), when there isn't one worthy of that draft pick, is how you ruin franchises, just look at us right now.
    • I upgraded to the S24+ a few weeks back. Very happy with it.
    • LOL... Yet again proving you can't look below anything than what you see on the surface Mock drafts ARE NOT draft grades They are what people think will happen.  They are mocking teams taking QB's in the top 5 of the draft because that's just historically how drafts go regardless of the grades on the QBs.  Almost every draft expert, even those mocking QB's going high, have said time and time again that none of these QB's actually grade out as those type of picks. This is again, where I say you don't like to actually read what I have to say, because I already explained it. 2022 the exact same thing happened, mock drafts had guys like Pickett and Willis going in the Top 5 because that's just what teams usually do, but GM's listened to their prospect grades and knew they weren't worth taking that high, so they didn't. It's not to say QB's won't go that high this year, but it's to say that they aren't graded out as elite QB prospects.   And yes, I've never said I'm not a T-Mac homer. But me being that doesn't change that he will be the highest graded offensive player in this year's draft, at a position we haven't been able to solve since we lost Smitty.  Taking him makes all the sense in the world, my bias aside.
