Thomas Davis: 15-1 meaningless without playoff wins

The thing I don't want to see, is if we are one and done, is that the Cam-Peyton comparisons will spring up, as it will be our third divisional loss in a row if if happens.  Pundits will talk about how good of a regular season team we are, and Cam, but that "he's never made it to a conference championship" and we'll see tons of comparisons to Manning's frequent one and done playoff appearances.  Nevermind we'll likely have the toughest opponent in the divisional of any high seed in the NFL, but they'll see 49ers (L), Seahawks (L), Seahawks (L), and you can forget ever getting picked to make noise in the post season next year if that happens even if we went 16-0

I feel like that is how you want the players to feel and how they should feel.

I dont expect us to lose, but if we do, as a fan, it shouldn't take away what has been an extraordinary season.

We all want the Super Bowl.  That is the goal.  But I am also not one of those fans that says "If we don't win the Super Bowl this season was a failure"

It is a failure for the team to be this good through out the season and then fail on the biggest stage. Its time for the Panthers to take it to the next level and finish this season on a high note, nothing less is acceptable knowing what we are capable of doing everygame.  KEEP POUNDING!ConcreteClosedAmericanblackvulture.gif

At this point 15-1 plus a couple of bucks will get you a cup of coffee.

In other words our record means nothing now that the playoffs have begun.

Panthers could end up one and done if they don't come mentally and physically prepared for battle.

This is accurate IMO. The Mantra has been we need to work hard to be 1-0 this week, meaning the guys are not looking back.  Can't expect him to say, "yeah 15-1 is great, I'm all good and it's time to celebrate"

I'll say this...

If, God forbid, we lose in the playoffs (especially in that first game) this place is going to see a meltdown of epic proportions with people ready to bench/cut/fire everybody from the owner on down.

I really don't want to see that.

Posted in the thread the Packers fan made in response to him thinking they're terrible that fans always blow it out of proportion and that I'm sure there will be people here questioning all of Cam, Rivera and DG's futures with the team if we happen to lose. It's natural in sports.
