There was quite a difference in the way Cutler played vs Delhomme. That is why stats don't mean anything.

right, but the point is, most fans take 4 interceptions as a reason in and of itself, regardless of other factors like horrible offensive line play (which cutler did not have, btw.)

this thread is pretty much a poor attempt at an endorsement for Delhomme because he threw 4 interceptions in less than half the pass attempts Cutler had.

oh and btw, Jake didn't even play the entire game

not quite... as much as i've been a jake supporter in the past, i think benching him was absolutely the correct decision, and if he doesn't show he's over it for good by the first half of the ATL game, he needs to be sat down permanently.

however, it also needs to be noted that there are more factors involved in stats that just the number. Most fans hear "four interceptions" and absolutely poo themselves, dig the poo out of their underwear and start throwing it all willy nilly and demanding the backup QB no matter what.

It's a stupid reaction. The Jay Cutler analogy serves to point out that four interceptions does not necessarily make a quarterback bad. It can, and it usually is a good indicator, but not always.

    • When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly. We could have had multiple if we had done this in the past.
    • Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.
    • Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
