Another Hot take:

" So, I've seen quite a few articles on how the Panthers utterly dominated the entire game today. Looking strictly at the numbers, other than the two turnovers (resulting in 14 Panther points), the Seahawks were actually the dominate team today. Converted more 1st downs, less penalty yards, way more passing yards, an almost 75% completion rate for Wilson, etc, etc...take away the turnovers, and it's an entirely different game, with a drastically different outcome. "

Yeah, and if JFK had left the roof on the car.

Don't need to go to Seahawks forum to get excuses.  Did anyone else catch the doozies that Aikman was throwing out during the 3rd quarter?

1) The turf

2) Playing in ridiculous conditions in Minny last week

3) 30,000 air miles flown by the team in the last 2 weeks.

I wish I had the time and patience to go back through that broadcast and log every second spent talking about the Seahawks versus the Panthers.  I suspect it would be about a 10:1 ratio.  Clearly the Panthers jumping out by 31 was NOT in the narrative.

1. We needed more time and we would have won

2. Playing an early game on the East Coast

3. Turf

It's called home field advantage for a good god damn reason. They benefited from it for years and now they are gonna whine about us getting the benefits of it. If you don't like it win more games in the regular season, starting by beating us in your own stadium, week 6.

Technically those are all valid factors, but my final answer would be a big "so what".

You're the sixth seed. This is the path you have to travel if you want to win it all. You're either good enough to do it or you're not.

They weren't.

The thing about NFL fans is that they're a self righteous bunch. There's squibbling going on between Packers and Cardinals fans right now over the events of Last night's game. Bengals fans (and players) are toasting to the Steelers' elimination today. And Giants fans don't care who wins the Super Bowl as long as it's not Carolina. The NFL is a high stakes sport where all the glory is reserved for but one spot and hearts are broken every single week, especially in January, so it's not surprising that at this point Seahawks fans are coming up with every excuse about this loss like:

1. The field

2. That they had to play at 10AM Pacific Time

3. That their mother forgot to iron their lucky shirt so they could wear it today

and anything else they can pull out of their asses

Giants fans? What do Giants fans have against us?

Exactly. If your team was "so good", as they claimed, they would have been able to overcome all of this and pull out the W.
