Ron Rivera Bans Hoverboards Due to Panthers Players Were Drag Racing

When I went to Tampa Bay game I saw Roman Harper riding his hoverboard home. Yesterday I saw Roman Harper WALKING home instead of on his Hoverboard. Now I know why.

However I think Charles Johnson found a loop hole as he was on his segway riding around the Parking lot.

Riverboat Ron doesn't want to gamble with his team's health, so he's decided to ban all hoverboards from team headquarters at Bank of America Stadium.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera made the announcement on Monday, one day after Carolina beat Seattle 31-24 to advance to Sunday's NFC title game.

"We don't want them running around because we don't want something crazy happening here,” Rivera said, via FoxSports.com. "We're trying to limit their exposure to injury."

The ban will probably come as disappointing news to Cam Newton, who's been riding his hoverboard all season.

So why is Rivera banning the hoverboards?

One of the reasons is because he caught his players racing.

"I caught them drag racing in the hallway one time," Rivera said.

The other reason is because he doesn't want any of his players to catch on fire.

"Truthfully, somebody told me about them igniting so I went on YouTube and found them," Rivera said.

YouTube is filled with videos of hoverboards catching on fire.

They are only banned inside the facility. Rivera is only discouraging players from using them outside the facility. He doesn't have the power to ban them outside the facility. I'd expect that hoverboard bans will start to be included in contracts.

    • He's 245lbs and ran a 4.5 at the combine several years ago. You can't teach size or speed so he's got those things going for him. If he has a decent work ethic and the coaches have a plan for him, he should be more than a camp body.
    • Great realistic draft, its missing a 5th the Viking one right or you used it to trade for JROd...I see.  Thomas is the 6th is one of those "autos" if there's no Cole Payton/QB.  I believe Parker is like christ, he can play all 5 OL spots if needed.  Crow is one of my targets for months, sometimes I can get with the 4th, but I think he is a solid 3rd rounder.
    • He does have luke-like traits, but ......ugh I hate to spend draft currency on the low valued ILB. Same bitachin I did about Dan traded up for brooks, he even pulled the classic " we had a 1st round grade on him"  Hell I rather see if Wallace finally learned how to get his body ready for a NFL season. Toss this in the pile too, Id be ok with Claudin Cherelus starting. I think Lloyd will elevate any player next to him and Claudin would break out, he's got the same health issues like Sanders.....he's climbing the mountain and pulls a hammy.  Plus since this a great and deep ILB group, the UDFA pool should have a few players that get overlooked.
