Quarterbacks we can afford?

Chris Simms shouldn't have a high price tag. I think he deserves a shot as a starter. Look at how well he was doing when he was injured in the game against us. He played most of that game hurt and had the bucs winning. So the dude has the heart of a lion and shown great leadership ability.

You think there might be reason for trade talks to get him without giving up alot?

I do not think his spleen removement would be an issue. Its would be the ability to perform under our offense. i do not always agree with giving up alot for another good quarterback in the league because you do not know how they will do under another system. also we cant afford any really good quarterbacks.

when is McNabbs contract up? Philly wants rid of him eventually, if they find a replacement(Vick)

Since when is the organization of Philly ready to give him up? I would imagine Andy Reid is pretty high on McNabb. I imagine they cut him loose when his football career is over.

However, there certainly are a group of McNabb haters just like there are Jake haters in Charlotte.

I hate mcNabb, though I'm willing to push that hate aside if he's the best we can get. I admit he is a good QB when he wants to be, much better than Jake.

Had the thought after listening to the football guy on 610AM(from Profootballtalk.com ?) on way to work this morning. He's reading the Eagles taking Garcia, with all the love the fans have for him in Philly, along with Vick, as the Eagles possibly wanting to find a replacement and as soon as they find one they dump McNabb. bad blood there or something.

    • It's just a talking head.  Talking about gambling. If anybody takes the under on 4.5 wins, they're most likely losing their money.   So he's only saying if you want to bet on a possible sleeper, take the over.  It's not rocket science.  Pathetic that so many on the huddle have reduced themselves to posting purely trash every time they hit the submit button.
    • I mean I think the best case scenario has to hit for the Panthers and everyone else in the NFCS has to hit their worst case scenario.  Personally, I think this is the year that NO finally collapses and I think they finish 4th in the division regardless.  ATL is overrated but still likely a 6-9 win team. TB plays tough football, their defense will be there but their success depends on the offense, they too are a 6-9 win team.  The Panthers are probably 4-6 wins at best. If they find some sort of momentum during the season and get 7-8 wins, and TB and ATL struggle then maybe but I find it very unlikely.
    • We screwed up a couple years ago taking Bryce in the first place.  Nobody held a gun to our head to jump from #9 to #1.  Most people who keep up with draft news knew this 2024 QB class was loaded and we should have waited, which I advocated. It was a dumb move and I knew it.  Now we have to roll with Bryce another year.  That's fine, because this 2025 class isn't that great.  I like Ewers, but not super high on him.  If Bryce shows improvement, which I think he will, that should get him at least one more season before we have to decide on if he's the permanent answer or not.  I've said before, the 2026 draft is the next window for a franchise QB if Bryce isn't the answer. Bryce gets this year and next at a minimum.
