Credit to the Secondary

Can't leave Shaq out of the discussion either. Carolina played a lot of base 4-3 before TD got hurt and Shaq had the slot on lock.

Yeah we had a thread here before the game talking about that and some people didn't like the idea of having Shaq covering the slot...turned out to be a good call.

But I will say that the defensive line deserves a lot of credit.  They brought pressure and got Palmer flustered.  Hopefully they can do the same thing to Manning.

Going into this game, I think most people thought that the secondary was going to be our weakest link...but they turned out being our biggest playmakers.

And the best part of it all...THEY WERE OUR WEAKEST LINK!  That's how dominant our D-line and linebackers were.

And God bless RR for not taking his foot off the gas (although IMO he could have pulled some of the starters a few plays earlier: Cam, Stew, Luke, Josh)

People will say Palmer blew it but our defense didn't make it easy. They confused Bruce and the Cards all day and the only thing that worked for them was the run.

True....and they only managed 60 yards rushing for the game.  Total domination.

Phenomenal job by the secondary. The Cardinals had the number 1 offense in the NFL and had about 4-5 guys on offense that run a legit 4.3 and we were able to keep them under control. I believe this team will be reday for the SB. They have been battle tested. They have played against the number one scoring defense in Seattle (also had a top 5 offense) and the number 1 total offense in Arizona  (also had a top 5 defense).
