Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Mario Williams will arrive in New Jersey Sunday night and visit with the Giants on Monday.

  • Interestingly enough, Rapoport adds that the Giants have an opportunity to keep him there, implying that they could hammer out a contract and prevent him from meeting with another team.

Williams, 30, was in the fourth year of his six-year, $96 million contract when he was released earlier in the week in a move that freed up $12.9 million in cap space for the Bills.

In 2015, Williams appeared in 14 games and recorded 17 tackles and four sacks for the Bills. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 47 defensive end in a 4-3 defense out of 51 qualifying players

Rumor has it Carolina might be give look at Anquan Boldin

In general I'm against a vet WR coming in, but I'd make an exception for Boldin. He is the blueprint for KB and Funch to be big body receivers and they would learn a ton from him. Would also be a good vet if Cotchery is gone.

Roddy White‘s agent, Jonathan Feinsod, made it clear that Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan is the reason his client isn’t back in Atlanta.

There is one reason Roddy is no longer with the Falcons and it is Kyle Shanahan,” Feinsod said, via D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Kyle forced the Falcons to choose between him or Roddy. This was not Roddy’s choice. Over the last 11 years Roddy has played for four different head coaches. Four different offensive coordinators. Three different wide receiver coaches and one incredible owner. Their opinions of Roddy and his opinion of them would all be consistently positive. Roddy has had and continues to have an incredible professional and personal relationship with them all.

Starting at noon, teams can begin negotiating terms with other teams' free agents.

Nobody can actually sign a deal till Wednesday at 4pm, but they can get the ball rolling.

(unlike in the past when multi-million dollar contracts where miraculously negotiated within the space of a few minutes after midnight, because we swear nobody was tampering ahead of time...really)

Speculation that the Giants are going to sign Mario Williams, which would likely also mean that Jason Pierre-Paul and Robert Ayers will hit free agency.

What is the Giants Cap space like? Could they possibly look at CJ after signing Williams?

Edit: Yeah I thought so the Giants have bags of money to throw at FAs. So could they follow up Williams with CJ?

When u literally have zero good players at all on defense your going to have a large amount of money to spend.  Never seen a D worse than the Giants, from Dline through the secondary it's awful..They will be big players in FA, Reese's job is on the line

Which is amazing given the defense they had built not that long ago.
