And boom goes the dynamite.  Sweezy sucks but far better than Hawk alternatives.  To a lesser extent this is similar to the Graham/Unger/Saints/Hawks deal that hurt both teams.

The NFL announced Wednesday that the Chiefs will lose their 2016 third-round pick and their 2017 sixth-round pick for violating the anti-tampering rules last year upon signing WR Jeremy Maclin.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs have been fined $250,000, HC Andy Reid was fined $75,000 and GM John Dorsey received a $25,000 fine.

The LA #Rams signed WR Brian Quick to a 1-year worth up to $3.75M, source said. He gets $1.5M fully guaranteed.

WR Victor Cruz and #Giants working out details that will keep him with team this season. Sounds hopeful something will get done, per source.

Chargers have agreed on a three-year contract with former Indianapolis Colts safety Dwight Lowery.

The Bucs strategy appears to be to try and bankrupt us by inflating Kawann's stats.

Let's not get too cocky. They still got a franchise QB and MLB. They can rebuild.

Not saying we won't have to bring it but Irvin's don't grow on trees and that's why they took him in the 1st.  The margin for error is razor thin in this league, especially when you give big deals to so many and literally have nothing to show for your first round this entire decade.  They've regressed since 2013 and no longer have their QB for peanuts (actually paying him more than Cam, fools), and I see further regression.  Guys like Kearse were the difference against us in the past and they're disappearing by the handful before our eyes.

Star has anther two years we will use the option, Norman imo isn't worth a long term deal at his age... Short will cost a penny but I doubt we let him see the open market he will be hit with the tag.

DL tag will hit $17M next year and maybe up to $18M. The sooner we get a deal done with Kawann the better. Cam and Luke look like dollar store signings right now because we got them done early.

We may be saying the same thing shortly, these dollar amounts are insane..

Maybe but we didn't trade a 1st (that could have been used on KK), 3rd, and 7th for Percy, trade a 1st (cheap, 21 year old Shaq) for Jimmy, draft Britt over Turner, etc.. GMan is simply running circles around Schneider at this moment and for 2-3 years.

@MikeKlis
Broncos figured Brock Osweiler didn't want to come back when he stopped returning phone calls to coaches/some teammates past 2 weeks. #9news

Chris Harris @ChrisHarrisJr  2h2 hour

Shocked I thought Brock wanted to play with us lol

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Vikings are signing former Titans S Michael Griffin to a contract.

Rand Getlin reports that the 49ers have reached an agreement with QB Thad Lewis on a one-year deal.

The tag won't go up that much it's an average of the previous five seasons....

It's the average for the previous 5 seasons but it's not exactly for their cap hits. It's the percentage of the salary cap those cap hits took up. It's at 10.1% this season. A conservative estimate of the 2017 salary cap at $170M and that percentage not going up, which it should, puts the tag at $17M+

EDIT: Scratch that. Was looking at the DE number. DT should be around $15M

If you are a Broncos fan I'd think you'd be freaking out. Your team is being dismantled!!

It definitely feels like that for them, but they've really only lost 3 guys in free agency. Brock, Trevathan and Jackson.

Of course, you have to add in Manning's retirement and the fact that Von is going to be getting private island money due to the Vernon contract to get the full picture. Also, CJ Anderson might get poached because they used the original round tender on him and Demarcus Ware could get cut but those haven't happened yet.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
