Listening to Rock 92, and I hear a lot of songs that are not classic rock. So I thought I would start posting thses songs, and get decision here.

Now this first song is a cool song, but is it classic rock?

I say no and should never be played on any classic rock stations.

btw the chick off of Palmers right shoulder....mmmmmmmm

lol yeah I know the past is the past and rock and roll is rock and roll. But I'm talking about Rock. I guess you have to decide when rock started.I think rock started in the mid-60s. Now classic is supposed to be anything 25 years and older... So 1991 and older is classic. But that doesn't make this...

classic rock

When I was a senior in high school  in 1992, Rock 92 played songs from the 60s and 70s. That was 24 years ago. The 80s are fair game now. And when the sprinkle in some Pearl Jam and Nirvana I don't get mad at all.

Must be at least 5 mins long and include at least one guitar solo.  A saxophone is fine as long as it meets the two aforementioned requirements.  An instrumental is also allowed so long as any of the three are included.

If the song is over 5 mins and includes any of the requirements yet there is makeup or long hair and this band didn’t start playing until after 1980, it is NOT classic rock. KISS is ahem, grandfathered in.

Robert Palmer has other stuff that is classic rock but Addicted to love isn't it but i concur with stirs on the video.

I think it has more to do with the popularity/recognizability of the song itself. If you can sing the words before the words start, then it might qualify. And it has to be rock, not pop. Madonna fits those criteria, but was never misconstrued as rock.

Name one song by the Knack other than "My Sharona"......

That's the real problem, confusing hits with rock. Very few rock songs are hits now, so doubt there will be much confusion in the future. But that transition from the radio to MTV screwed everything up.

Only song I really know from Edgar Winter only cuz just couldnt get into it...

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
